Most of us in Atlanta just feel like we are living in a foreign country.
When I worked at the unemployment office in Iowa many of the better-off blacks were headed to Atlanta.
If you go to Houstons or Blue Ridge Grill at Paces Ferry and 75 north you’ll hear a lot of southern accents
It’s like a pocket of old money Atlanta where strong Deep South high drawl abounds
Bring your wallet though
We stop at Blue Ridge when driving down to south Florida after Christmas
We go down then it’s cheaper to rent a house
Wifey loves that restaurant with the big rabbit in English hunting clothes portrait over the man in room and fireplace
But we were both astounded at the plethora of strong upper class southern accents....not country...Yankees confuse country and southern accents
In Nashville you notice southern accents of that type they are rare
Jackson Mississippi where I was raised everybody talks that way in certain demographics
