How that can be in this reddish district is beyond me.

Being from the area and in the party, I can say that I think the conference might have made a mistake selecting Saccone. The district spans parts of four counties. Southern Allegheny county (Pittsburgh area) is fairly dem and liberal and is a major part of the district. One of the candidates was a young Republican state senator who has managed to win repeatedly in that area, but the conference decided against him and chose Saccone. I like Saccone, but never felt he could carry or overcome that area. I hope I'm wrong.

His platform resembles Trump’s, and Trump will be rallying for him, so maybe he can pull it off and beat the slick pretty boy.
