Don't forget to tell everybody that you know that the centerpiece of the slick pretty boy's campaign is his "overseas" service as a U.S. Marine.

What he doesn't tell you is that his active service lasted less than two years and his overseas assignment was Okinawa (a more cherry picked assignment than Hawaii, according to military people I know). His duties consisted entirely of processing paperwork for military courts. Really dangerous stuff equivalent to the guys who put their lives on the line in Iraq or Afghanistan, right?

Another reason why I liked the other candidate who wasn't selected by the conference. He was a Navy JAG who actually worked with Iraqi courts IN Iraq prosecuting terrorists. Not exactly a door-kicker, but he wasn't sunning himself on the beach.

Hmmm... I didn’t know that about him. Okinawa: My friends were stationed there in the Army in the mid ‘70s and said it was wonderful.

So this guy is touting his military service. Sheesh!
