The political future of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party over the next two years really comes down to one question: Do traditional measures of popularity mean anything when it comes to Trump?
If they do, the Republican Party and Trump could be in major trouble.
Usually, we wouldn't even think to ask whether a president with around a 40% approval rating would end up hurting his political party. Yet Trump did something that was seemingly impossible in 2016: He won the presidency, despite being the most unpopular candidate since at least 1952 and with Americans seeming to like the status quo.
President Barack Obama's net favorability rating in the final Gallup poll using a -5 to +5 scale was +16 percentage points. Trump came in with a -25 percentage point net favorability rating in the same scale. That 41 point difference should have been electoral poison for Trump....

I respectfully disagree with that premise. The statement above underestimates the deep reservoir of revulsion in the Democratic party towards DJT. If the Dems win the House, they will be impelled to attack and destroy every part of the Trump agenda and impeach him. In fact, their constituents would demand it, and would see them as spineless rats if they were to compromise with him, and rightly so...
Reagan had the Teflon presidency, now Trump has the Anti-gravity presidency. Both are winners. 8>)
Which is more popular than their messiah was at this point of his presidency. Did they report that?

It is amazing Trump has done so much in 16 months in spite of all that.
Its very simple CNN. The American people just don’t trust you or believe you. Therefore they just ignore all of your spin.

Job approval does not equal personal popularity. Americans may not universally like Trump, but they approve of the job he’s doing.
Hillary said 40% of Democrats are Socialists.
No wonder the Polls are skewed against a Capitalist Businessman like POTUS Trump. That would also mean that 40% of the talking Heads on CNN are Socialists, right?
Which begs the question, why hasn’t Hillary’s statement been condemned by the Media? I know, because it’s true and they are part of the Socialist Cabal.
