House Democrats release thousands of Russian-linked Facebook ads

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee released copies of Facebook ads created by a Russian company with ties to the Kremlin Thursday, providing the most comprehensive picture to date of the Russian campaign to use hot-button social and political issues to target Americans during the 2016 presidential election.

Lawmakers released roughly 3,000 ads from Facebook and Instagram in an effort to follow through on a commitment made by committee leaders last fall when lawmakers held hearings about the Russian social influence campaign.

At the time, the panel released a small sampling of the ads produced by the Internet Research Agency, a Russian organization accused of spreading disinformation that the committee says produced the content between 2015 and 2017.

“There’s no question that Russia sought to weaponize social media platforms to drive a wedge between Americans, and in an attempt to sway the 2016 election,” Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement....

Another epic fail by Schiff who has claimed there was collusion between Trump and Russia. So again Schiff, where’s your evidence of collusion? Which btw collusion is not in the federal criminal code.

Yeah, Shifty, the Russians were invested in a Bernie of ‘honeymoon in Moscow’ fame to beat the wicked witch of the west. The Russians face bookers had no influence over me, I do NOT do facebook.

Exactly. The Dems and “Deep State” are giving the Russians more bang for their buck than they ever could have dreamed.

I’d love it if we were able to pull the ads from when Obama won.

Meanwhile, interviews with Vincente Fox slamming Trump aired on CNN/NBC/FOX/MSNBC and got millions of impressions. Foreigners meddling in our elections.

Only if they are pro Trump ads. Oh, and the illegality is retroactive. Don’t worry about the Constitution. It doesn’t apply to Facebook.

Just when you thought they could not make themselves bigger laughingstocks after spouting off about how Trump had destroyed any chance of negotiating with North Korea, they give us old Facebook ads as incontrovertible evidence of Russian interference in our elections.

The party of Maxine Waters has outdone itself.

The whole thing is stupid. Just thnk about the millions of fake news articles that have been put out by CNN, WAPO...etc etc and they were 90% anti Trump. But those are okay...right?

How do we know these weren’t put there by Sidney Blumenthal or Cody Shearer? From the verbal descriptions, they sound like they are about at the level of quality one expects from those two.

Why do they include 2017. And 2015 for that matter?

The intent is to then be able to say there were x-thousand Russian ads influencing the election. The reality, when one actually looks at these sad little "ads" is these Russians were just churning out click-bait that had nothing to do with the election at all.

One could find any number of companies in the world churning out silly click-bait ads (5 foods to avoid!!!), but Mueller needed to find "Russians" churning out ads during the election cycle to then label them as political ads, when the ads themselves are just junk ads about nothing.

Just to put it all in perspective.

This morning, our hostages were released, alive and well from North Korea, thanks to God, and the brilliant work of President Trump and Secretary Pompeo.

The President announced a date certain and location for his historic meeting with Kim Jong un.

The democrats respond with—the release of Facebook ads.
