California has inaugurated a new non-partisan voting system.
This has resulted in 17 candidates running for the congressional seat Republican Young Kim is trying to win.
Since most of the other 16 candidates are most likely Democrats, including African-Americans, Hispanics, Greens, white liberals, feminists, and other creatures from the Liberal black lagoon, a Republican has an excellent chance of winning.
This new non-partisan voting system favors Republicans not only because it splits the Democratic vote, but also because it makes it harder for the large number of simple-minded Democratic voters to understand what’s going on. Even Maxine Waters might lose her job this year.
Cindy “Peacecreep” Sheehan came very close to knocking off Nancy Pelosi, which is why you don’t read about it.
Sorry, it never works that way. There are seven of the 17 candidates identified as Republican and they will split th 40% of the electorate. We will be very lucky if one of them makes top two.
What I'd really like to see is the CAGOP select its candidates at off year conventions. Only the selected candidate files to run as a Republican. Throw anyone else that files for the primary out of the party.
