Trump doesn’t need to get 100% of the black vote, Dems are so dependent on minority votes right now, just peeling off 20-25% would kill the Democrats - and they know it
Didn’t Trump get less than 10% of their vote? Heck just a 5% inc would kill them.
Okay, lets do the math. If blacks make up 13% of the voting population, a 5% increase would be only a 0.65 point increase (plus the corresponding decrease of 0.65 points to the democrats) would result in a total delta of 1.3 points. I don't think any blue states Trump lost would fall within that margin. Even House and Senate seats in those blue states would have been unaffected (okay, maybe there were a few - I didn't look up the actual results).
The 25% increase would add 3.25 points to the republicans, subtract 3.25 points from the democrats, for a net 6.5 point swing. Now, assuming across the board racial make-up by state) that would be an impact that would have swung the results of from Clinton to Trump in Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, Virginia and Maine.
