Democrats agree that Donald Trump’s history of bragging about groping and assaulting women is unacceptable, but they don’t agree about how to deal with it in 2020.
The tension has spilled into the open in the ongoing debate about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s role in galvanizing Senate Democrats to call for Sen. Al Franken to step down over misconduct. Even white college-educated women, Hillary Clinton’s biggest supporters, are divided.
“We loved him,” Marsha Pearcy, 58, said sadly to Gillibrand at a private event for professional women in Washington on Tuesday night. Pearcy barely finished saying Franken’s name when quiet murmurs and palpable tension spread across the room of dozens of mostly white and mostly 20- and 30-something women.
At its core, the Franken controversy is about how Democrats believe their party should respond to #MeToo as they prepare to take on Trump in 2020. One faction wants to battle Trump on his turf, even if it means giving one of their own a pass on sexual misconduct. Trump doesn’t apologize for even worse. Why should Democrats? Ideals be damned. There’s too much at stake.
Another faction believes Democrats must do better — that they need to stand with women and clean house no matter who the offender is, even a popular liberal senator. These liberals think the future of the party is rooted in the women-led resistance and the energy that’s driven a record number of women to run for Democratic office this year....

Harris doesn’t have a chance. She has all the charm of an ex-wife. Reminds people of Obama racially, but has zero of Obama’s charisma. She has no background indicating success, and she is from an outlier state like California.
Nobody is going to vote for an angry minority woman. And she doesn’t even seem very bright.

The implication here is that some woman will do anything for money. True that.

8 years of Obama seems to prove otherwise. Hillary lost for multiple reasons, but one of them was without a doubt because she is an older, white woman. That doesn’t energize the low-info morons enough...

So you think the dems would lose enough white democrat voters to counteract the increase in minority turnout they would get? I’m not sure I buy it. I think the same folks willing to vote for Clinton would be more than willing to vote for a minority, and I think they get increased minority turnout.

Doesn’t matter if the Democrat Party runs a women a Black or a Space Alien. If they are a Prog they will lose. We are done with the Progs. We are jus beginning to get our Country back on track and have a long way to go. So no more Progs!
She was a protege (and mistress) of Willie Brown. I believe she is also part of the same faction as Obama. Indeed I think he will support her over all others. Despite her obvious shortcomings, as pointed out by Desert Rhino, I’m convinced the machine will put her forward at the head of the donkey’s ticket in 2020.
I really just think that an angry minority woman from the gay bay area has no chance. Every advantage Obama had, she is kinda the opposite. And I know it’s a big market, but most of the country shakes their head in derision at California. That place is so poorly run, that it would be a sea anchor on her.
But I will give you, she could become a nominee for them. But she would be defeated even worse than Hillary.
