Democrats fear call to shame Trump admin officials will cost votes in midterms: report

Some Democrats are reportedly concerned that public appeals to “absolutely harass” Trump administration officials will come back to hurt them in the polls and benefit Republicans.

There have been several recent instances where Trump officials have been publically shamed, including Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, who was asked to leave by an owner of a restaurant in Virginia.

On Saturday, Florida Attorney General – and ardent Trump supporter – Pam Bondi was confronted by a group of protesters outside the screening of a documentary about Mister Rogers in Tampa. A video of the confrontation shows the Florida AG leaving the theater as several people yell at her, with one woman seen shouting at her about Bondi’s recent actions on health care policy and her stance on immigration.

The Washington Post’s editorial board wrote a column titled, “Let the Trump team eat in peace.” The paper identified the heightened state of “passions” in the country, but saw no benefit in protesters interrupting dinners.

Democrats warned that these public encounters could win sympathy for the Trump administration, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Rep. Maxine Waters, in the meantime, is not backing down from her weekend comments calling for people to confront members of the Trump administration at gas stations and anywhere else they're seen in public....

“panicking that these SJWs will hurt their team with independent votes in November”

Occupy certainly didn’t do dems any favors. Antifa, flash riots and protests aren’t either. Terrorizing people wherever they go is probably not looked upon favorably by a large percentage of voters.

“but the dems know that mid-terms are increasingly nationalized.”

Precisely my point, they are trying to run away from her on paper, not in spirit. They cannot win and they know it with the tactics Maxine, the extremely low IQ congresswoman, espouses. Frankly she should be in jail over that bank stuff but the government gave her a pass.

Democrats really should stop their war on women (Sarah Sanders and Pam Bondi).

The only motivation for democrat politicians to do or say anything is whether it will help them seize and maintain power. Common decency or doing the right thing play no role in their calculations.

The Dems seem bound and determined to do what the GOP is incapable of... and that’s motivate the the non Traditional MAGA/Trump voter to show up this fall.....

The Dems continued quadrupling down on putting illegals before citizens, and this crazy stuff with Maxine...

GOP will end up gaining 20 seats in the house in spite of themselves.

Down side is we’ll have to deal with Mitten’s trying to undermine Trump for the next 8 years in the Senate.

The dynamic for the midterms has always been a referendum on Trump for the left.. but for the rest it was just another midterm... And honestly the Dems were on track to win the house...

However, they seem bounds and determined to wake the sleeping giant, and that is the non traditional MAGA voter... they largely haven’t been given a reason to show up by the GOP... they aren’t even trying to talk to them, particularly in the upper midwest...

But the behavior of the Dems is going so far bonkers, that they are nationalizing the election as referendum on Trump for everyone, and if that’s how the fall goes down, the Dems go from certainly winning the house, to losing 20 seats....

November is a long time away, but simply playing Maxine urging folks to be violent and rude as your campaign ad, over and over again, will wake the sleeping giant.

Senators terms are six years, not eight. And he hasn’t won yet.

When the faces of the Democrat Party are Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi, you don’t have “Ebony and Ivory,” you have “Dumb and Dumber.” Talk about unmatched ugliness!

I know that, and he will win election in Trumps 2nd year of his first term, meaning his 6 year term will go right up to the end of Trumps second term.

And like it or not, Romney will win in a landslide in Utah... stinks but its true.

“These people are stupid.”

Who? Democrats for saying and doing the things they are being caught at? Or Republicans for not wiping their noses in it like a bad puppy? In the minds of the robots educated through liberal schools and policies, no one but a conservative is guilty without a whole lot of days in court. And even then if they didn’t do it intentionally, they are still not guilty of anything. (See Hilary Clinton’s walking by the knowingly passing of sensitive, to include top secret, information with her private server in the basement of her home in New York. And to get the CAC card to use it, she would have to jump through a whole lot of hoops which ordered her not to do what she did along with the installation of equipment to allow her access) They need to be hammered every time and the GOP doesn’t seem to want to do it. Creates a double standard.

Yup, the GOP aka, Gutless Old Party never takes advantage of campaign material provided to them on a silver platter. My wife says it’s because GOP members are also members of The Stupid Party who go out of their way to lose elections.

Democrats would do well the remember how Hillary Clinton got elected to the Senate. Her opponent in a debate had some piece of paper and he walked over to give it to her and the democrats made poor Hillary into a terrified woman who was intimidated by the bad man who stalked over to her so aggressively. Suburban white women ate that stuff up and unlikable carpetbagger Hillary had their undying affection, you go girl!

Fast forward 12 years or so and here the dems are applauding people for intentionally harassing, intimidating, and embarrassing female administration officials (Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kristin Neilsen). This does't play well in soccer mom land.

I’m just glad that most Democrats are more out in the open about their views.

They don’t hide their views about socialism, higher taxes, support for gay marriage, support for illegal immigrants ect. like they used to.

For years they would flat out lie about their opinions, the more open they are, the less likely they will win elections.

I think the Dems' real concern isn't against fostering physical violence on their opponents, it's that it's happening too soon to help them. And yes, I do classify standing with your face an inch away from someone and shrieking obscenities to be violence, and so does the law.

Look, for example, at who is applauding this: CNN, MSNBC, the NY Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe - they're fine with this, but only if it works, and they're perfectly confident in their ability to avoid blowback by screaming loudly about it. That confidence needs to be shaken up a bit, and November will do that.
