For once, the most memorable thing about one of the president's rallies was not his baldfaced lies nor his attacks on reality. Rather, President Donald Trump's Tampa rally will be remembered for the reporting of CNN's Jim Acosta. He revealed more accurately than most what the Trump base, or at least part of it, looks and sounds like and what Trump must do to hold its attention. He tweeted:
"Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. I'm very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy."
In between reports, Acosta strolled over to engage with the hooters and hollerers, extending them the civility and respect they would deny anyone who contradicts their cult leader....

This assumes that calling conservatives racist, Nazis, toothless garbage people, etc. is considered to be 'reasoning'.
By "can't reason with" the vile Trump hater, Ruben, who wrote this means that you can't lie to and expect them to believe your lies. It is a massive source of frustration to the Trump hating socialism loving media that Trump's base looks at their endless spewing of lies and hatred (when they look at all) and ignores it. The media feels entitled to tell people what to think and when that doesn't happen they don't know what to do. Lies are the only weapon they have.
