Georgia Democrats aren't putting Trump at center of November hopes
WRAL-TV ^ | August 27, 2018 | Greg Bluestein, Cox Newspapers

Georgia Democrats hope that President Donald Trump helps fuel a blue wave that will surge over Republicans on the November ballot. But that doesn't mean they're putting him at the center of their election plans.

For as much as state Democrats despise Trump -- and opinion polls consistently confirm they do -- he's been largely missing from campaign trail attacks.

Stacey Abrams, the party's nominee for governor, studiously avoids mentioning the president as she stumps across the state. And many of the down-ticket candidates have followed her lead, instead focusing on their policies -- or their GOP opponents' stances.

At Saturday's Democratic Party of Georgia convention, where hundreds of delegates gathered at the Omni Hotel, that strategy was in full throttle. Trump's name was hardly invoked on the stage.

The Rev. Raphael Warnock, a possible U.S. Senate candidate in 2020, spoke broadly of a biblical battle against "this present darkness." Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin talked about expanding Medicaid and sparking more economic growth across the state....

Nope, but we still know what they really think. Abrams will go down in November.

The exception came from several of the U.S. House candidates... "One way or the other, it looks like something big is about to go down," said U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga. "And his name is Donald Trump."

Hank Johnson, the Protector of Guam, predicts that President Trump is going to "tip over" and "capsize" from office. And for governor, Georgia Democrats have nominated a black Communist legislator who owes more than $50,000 to the IRS despite loaning $50,000 to her campaign, and owes $170,000 in credit cards and student loans in income taxes -- at the same time she advocates for new social programs that will increase taxes on people who actually pay them. These people are geniuses.

Let’s hope the people of GA rise to the occasion! But can they?

Hey, Raphael, you're on the wrong side. I suggest you get on God's side and leave the Satan Party.

For as much as state Democrats despise Trump

I live in an area mostly Democrat. Most of my co-workers are Democrat. None of them despise Trump half as much as the author of this article. That doesn’t mean they support him. They pretty much see him as a member of the other tribe. Just as they are SEC and Falcons, Trump is from that other tribe, not theirs.

This week was a fail for Democrat Stacy Abrams because she (her staff running the ads) was caught living in last week’s story and not this week’s story.

I am no fan of the Republican, Kemp (I worked for him). In the primary he was criticized for incompetence. But Kemp (his staff running ads) are absolutely genius. They ran TV ads Sunday immediately after Abrams ads. The message was clear. Kemp is competent to run a political campaign. Abrams is so incompetent to keep up with weekly changes.

If a candidate can’t run a competent campaign, how can they be competent to run a state as governor?

And I haven’t seen Kemp touch his real opportunity.

The media accused Kemp (currently Secretary of State and State election official) of racism because precincts in Southern GA are being closed.

Kemp can bust that issue wide open with the facts.

Randolph County has a Democrat County Board and Democrat controlled Election Board. It is that Democrat election board that is closing the precincts. The Secretary of State chose the software for their voter registration system. But he has no role in the closing of precincts.

The precincts being close are small. Some have only 3 or 4 voters. And the precincts being closed are mostly white Republican precincts in this Democrat County. So it is a few white Republicans who will have to travel farther to reach the polling place. How is that racism?

Kemp should play for the Political Correctness part of it, not the racial part of it. His ad people should use humor to play this for those tired of political correctness.

Abrams will be defeated handily come November 6, 2018. She is toast, no burnt toast. Now, if she was a Conservative Republican that backed and supported Donald J. Trump, she would have a decent chance of victory. As an African-American, ultra liberal, Democrat....game over before it starts.

Read my lips Ms. Abrams, Barack Hussein Obama did zilch for African-Americans in his eight years as POTUS. He, like John McCain, was useless and the overwhelming numbers of all Americans know that, except you and your Democrat brothers & sisters. Girl...hang it up, you are wasting your time...woman!!!
