Republicans don’t care what you think
Vox ^ | 10-6-2018 | Dylan Scott

Posted on 10/07/2018 10:35:25 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

Republicans lost the argument, but they ultimately had the votes.

Forty-nine Senate Republicans and one Democrat just confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the United State Supreme Court. No allegations, no protesters, no public opinion poll showing Brett Kavanaugh is the most unpopular person to be elevated to the nation’s highest court in recent history was going to stop them.

To the senators who confirmed him, it did not matter that Christine Blasey Ford testified for four hours under oath and told the Senate Judiciary Committee that she was “100 percent” certain Brett Kavanaugh was the boy who pulled her into a room at a high school party 36 years ago and tried to force himself on her. It did not matter that Kavanaugh appeared to, at best, mislead senators in his own testimony. It did not matter that, unlike Clarence Thomas who also faced allegations of sexual misconduct, the public thought Kavanaugh’s accuser was more credible than he was.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) framed the Senate’s decision simply, days before the final vote: “It is about whether or not a woman who has been a victim at some point in her life is to be believed.”

The Senate has answered definitively: We do not believe her, not really, and we don’t care that the public does.

This is the governing ideology of the Republican Party: We don’t care what anybody else thinks. We have the power. We have the will. We have the votes. We’ll do what we want.

In politics, there’s winning the argument, and there’s winning the vote. Republicans lost the argument, but they ultimately had the votes. (emphasis mine)

“Republicans lost the argument”

Then they would not have had the votes, idiot.

“It is about whether or not a woman who has been a victim at some point in her life is to be believed.”

A perfect tautology

—Since we believe that she is a victim, we conclude that she is a victim.
—Since we conclude that she is a victim, she is to be believed.

Or more simply stated, we believe she is a victim, because we believe she is a victim. QED.

despite the fact that she coudn't remember when and where it happened, how she got there or got home or find one other person to corroborate her story. But, yet the idiots beveled her despite her "witnesses" have no idea what she is talking about.

Standard issue Leftist, Accuse the opposition of what you, yourself, are actually doing.

The US Voters made it clear what they wanted in 2016. The only people engaging in hysteric criminal theatrics trying to over turn that vote is extremist political bigots like this author

If anything, Republicans care too much and should learn to reject hysterical leftwing garbage sooner rather than later.

After 8 years of Obama and his inept criminal administration, yes. I don’t care what the left thinks and you did NOT win the argument.

That is one very large bucket of horse manure parading as an article. Complete propaganda piece aimed towards low thinkers.

There was a quote in this article, as much as I hated giving Vox a click:
"...This is the governing ideology of the Republican Party: We don’t care what anybody else thinks. We have the power. We have the will. We have the votes. We’ll do what we want..."

I read that, and thought "Ah...they get it."

What they DO NOT "get" is that this is exactly how they view it (Obama: "Elections have consequences" and "I won.") and that is exactly how they governed, in mostly unpopular and unconstitutional ways. They even went so far as to change the rules on judiciary confirmations, even against the heartfelt advice of Mitch McConnell who pleaded with them not to change it because they wouldn't be in power forever, but...they changed the rules anyway.

So, to the Left:
Choke on it. Eat what you have sown until you gag. We will fill up your plate again.

I most certainly don't care what non-conservatives think (though I do give consideration to some Libertarian views).

I have given much thought to my Conservative views because as Conservatives, we don't have a choice...we are forced to examine, re-examine, and defend our points of view, and I feel that they can withstand scrutiny. As part of this, over the years, I have thought "Could I be wrong? Am I blinded by ideology?" and in that process of introspection, examined Leftist views and found them wanting. Leftists are never forced to examine, re-examine, or defend their points of view (except through catastrophic defeat, and even then they do not repudiate them) mostly because their Leftist views cannot withstand logical scrutiny. They lack introspection, and if they were actually forced to examine their own views non-emotionally, they could not stand up.

Leftism is based on faulty premises. For too long, we have allowed them to build giant edifices on top of those fundamentally flawed foundations, and they have taken full advantage of that leniency (foolishness).

So, I do not care what Leftists think, and I care even less what Vox thinks. They had an article last week that I took exception with (GOP nervous ahead of Kavanaugh vote: “We don’t have 50 right now) because it was from Axios...a hack leftist site, whose sole purpose leading up to the vote was to sow uncertainty, prop up Leftists, and discourage conservatives. Of course it was hot air.

What I really wanted to say was: “Hey Leftists, how does our *** taste now?” but the non-profane version just didn’t get the point across...

Agree. In 2010, they said give us the House and we’ll turn things around. We did. In 2012, they said give us the Senate and we’ll turn things around. We did. In 2016, they said give us the Presidency and we’ll turn things around. We did. And what have they done?

Nothing.

Trump has done it on his own. If the GOP doesn’t grow a pair soon and show us they understand how to USE power, then it’s time to create a third part that will use it. Until the GOP shows some guts, I’m done with those spineless wonders.

I care how liberals think.

That is how I beat them because they involve their feelings too much and their argument and logic inevitably falls apart. Then all they can do is to react with their out of control feelings, ad hom attack, and rage.

But I really don’t care what liberals feel, other than the pure entertainment aspects of course...

We MIGHT care what the left thinks......

If they were CAPABLE of thought.....

But then, if they were capable of thought, they wouldn’t be leftists.

The left operates on emotion bolstered by ignorance.
