Yeah, because they didn't even hold a legitimate trial as specified by law. The GOP Senate was wetting their pants in fear that they might have to follow the Constitution and the law and convict Clinton so they did an end around.

There was also the Fear Factor that the recourse would be just plain fugly... Because as some people know, but many others do not, there are things that happen the cloakroom that stay in the cloakroom. And I heard that from an old White House staffer... That everybody has the got dirt on everybody else, and they just didn’t want to expose themselves to an out-and-out disclosure, In other words... A good old-fashioned Mexican standoff. So they left Clinton alone because Clinton had the goods on a lot of people when he and his lovely wife snagged all them FBI Files back at the beginning of his tenure in office. but, have no doubt whatsoever that those files only contain the tip of a very large Iceberg of information.
