A truism of the midterm elections is that women in the suburbs revolted against Donald Trump—or were revolted by Mr. Trump—and took it out on Republican candidates. Surveying the carnage among incumbent Republicans, there is little reason to challenge this conventional wisdom.
Still, some of us on principle don’t feel at home with the conventional wisdom, even as we admit its undeniable reality. So this week we are going to spend some time with what may be America’s most determined political outliers—the women who love Trump....

My forty-eight year old niece was on board the Trump train long before I was in ‘16 and made sure I was finally with him every time she saw me up through the election - her Christmas gift to me that year included my very on MAGA hat and tee-shirt - a couple months ago I saw her and asked rhetorically I thought if she were still with him - no, she didn’t like him any more she said - why I asked disbelievingly - because he said something nasty about LeBron James, she explained - that’s how easily some of these airheads can change their mind (and niece is in fact a computer resource person for a rather upscale suburban school system here in Jersey - voted teacher of the year in the system a little while back - not exactly your typical airhead) - after some discussion in which I maintained that James, as I recall it, had said something nasty about Trump, and went on to say that as a white, male, conservative Republican I and my fellows had been called racist, greedy, sexist pigs for fifty years and I was happy someone was finally giving such treatment back to our tormentors, niece allowed as how she still didn’t like Trump but would never vote against him considering the alternatives - many Republicans are just too delicate and squeamish for the party to hope to win the long game.....
Women love strong dynamic leadership. And the DemocRATS definitely do not have this.
