Pedro Gonzalez has faith in Donald Trump and his party.

The 55-year-old Colombian immigrant is a pastor at an evangelical church in suburban Denver. Initially repelled by Trump in 2016, he's been heartened by the president's steps to protect religious groups and appoint judges who oppose abortion rights. More important, Gonzalez sees Trump's presidency as part of a divine plan.

>>Wearing a blue corduroy blazer, blue shirt and grey slacks, Gonzalez, a onetime member of a Marxist group in Colombia, told his congregants that they were ambassadors of a higher power — the kingdom of God.

Media didn’t seem interested in identifying the active Marxist spouting members of the Obama administration...

With all of the pandering to left-wing, open-borders Hispanic groups that Bush, McCain and Romney indulged in, it’s fascinating to note that Trump’s support among Hispanics seems to be at least as strong as theirs ever was, and growing. Trump is showing Republicans the right way forward with Hispanics, and it isn’t by pandering to open-borders idiots - hopefully at least a few Republicans have the brains to watch and learn.

In November's elections, 32 percent of Latinos voted for Republicans, according to AP VoteCast data.

I wonder what the percent was among LEGAL CITIZENS of Latino descent.

The stability of Republicans' share of the Latino vote frustrates Democrats, who say actions like Trump's family separation policy and his demonization of an immigrant caravan should drive Latinos out of the GOP.

That's because Dems are all about identity politics, when most people aren't. ESPECIALLY Latinos who legally immigrated - A HUGE majority of these folks are pro-wall, anti-illegal alien. They went through the decade-ish of red tape, fees, etc etc to become a citizen the correct way - and all these caravans and 'Dreamers' do is come over and most don't even want citizenship, they just want to get what they can out of these US.

Also, Dems are the only ones who really attack faith-based organizations, and many Latinos (esp foreign-born) are pretty strongly into religion. If you see a Suburban driving around with a window decal of Mary, chances are it's not a black dude or an Asian. Not to mention many other Dem policies, it's really surprising that Latinos don't vote more Repub, not less.

When their relatives who are pursuing legal immigration status takes longer because hordes of illegals are being put in front of them in line, no wonder.
