It seems odd to me his instant 180 degree "conversion" seemed to have taken place about the time all the Epstein stuff was going down, I personally wouldn't be surprised if the democrats have some...less than flattering...pictures of him cavorting on Pedophile Island. They basically made him an offer he can't refuse. "Go 100% anti-Trump and these pictures stay hidden, or spend the next decade a federal prison."
