Nixon was not impeached, he was not removed from office via impeachment. My understanding (and I was a kid so I could have this wrong) was the Ford’s pardon removed the possibility of some further legal prosecution of Nixon.

I would really think a writer from Townhall could get that right.

Impeached, Resigned and not tried/convicted in the senate. Ford pardoned him and it covered him like a blanket.

It a credible defense.

VP Agnew left office in disgrace... Ford replaced him.

P Nixon left office in disgrace... Ford replaced him.

Ford was not elected to either office.

Had Nixon remained in office he was going to be impeached and convicted.
