Fox Business host Stuart Varney predicted that President Trump may have a surprise for Democrats and those calling for "drastic action" on climate change, as the president is set to give a speech in natural gas-rich Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
On Sunday, the Washington Post Editorial Board wrote an opinion piece arguing for a "carbon tax," which would be levied upon businesses and individuals based on greenhouses gas emissions.
The board wrote, "The science does not change because politicians deny that humans are warming the planet. Likewise, the economics do not change because politicians find them ideologically or politically inconvenient."
"It's not going to attract voters," said Varney on his Fox Nation show "My Take."
"The Post wants a big new tax. Everybody would pay. But, the vast government bureaucracy would redistribute the money that it raises," Varney said incredulously. "The price of gas, diesel, home heating oil, electricity, they all go up, but the Middle Class doesn't have to worry. Our political leaders will make sure that only the rich will pay. Voters might be just a little wary and skeptical about promises like that."

Has there been some new study or finding in support of “climate change”?
The PR effort on this issue has greatly intensified recently.
The propaganda is intense and too many are ignorant of the facts and believe the propaganda.
The solution to everything by the rabid RATs is always more taxation and more governmental control. So tell me, where has that worked? Poverty, schools, welfare, crime, gun violence? Where??? Please, I want to know.
I think most people with a functioning brain have realized one of two things:
(1) This is a fraud.
or
(2) There might be some concern, but that would be a hundred years in the future. This is a fraud.
We need to continue to remind these people that the planet has been cooling from when it was a molten ball of rock 4.5 billion years ago.
“...but the Middle Class doesn’t have to worry. Our political leaders will make sure that only the rich will pay.”
Just like with the United Nations, China doesn’t have to do anything about their pollution, just the rich countries like the USA. Several years ago the woman in charge of the U.N. Climate Change stuff said something like “This will the largest reordering of the world’s economic system.”
It isn’t about climate - it is about power.
These hysterical people don’t know what they are talking about. Man Made climate change is ridiculous-the sun is a big part of changes.
Taxing people will not cause the sun to stop a solar minimum, which is where we are heading -it’s cold and likely to get colder.
If they are worried about CO2, they just need to plant some trees. There are charts that show how many trees you need to support you family and activities. We have way more than we need, so we are doing our part.
These people a certifiable nuts.
Fracking is freeing us from overseas oil dependence. This is a huge development in our strategy and we should expand fracking and natural gas exploration within the 50 states.
JoMa
Fracking has been around for a long time. What has really increased our oil production is the development of thin layers of oil bearing strata using horizontal guided drilling.
Drilling an old vertical hole through a 10-foot thick deposit didn’t produce much oil. Drilling horizontally for hundreds of feet does! And I think these deposits are “tighter”, so require more fracking.
Keep in mind that these deposits are thousands of feet below the ground water. Oh - and these deposits already have a contaminant in them - oil!
It isnt about climate - it is about power.

I read the Kyoto Treaty back in the day.
I’m an uneducated white deplorable. Here is my analysis;
The USA will send all of it’s money to the UN who will spend it however they want. Other countries can pollute as much as they want.
Also, the UN will decide what the USA can and cannot do in regards to about everything.
