Dems' impeachment strategy isn't to win over the Senate, but defeat the Senate

A common belief among conservatives is that Democrats have blundered in their impeachment trial argumentation, that they've shot themselves in the foot. Perhaps so. But we should remember that their goal cannot, logically, be to win over the Senate so President Trump can be ousted from office before November.

It would have to be that they want to win the Senate for Democrats in November.

May be giving them more credit for next-level strategy but who knows. The country seems to be largely ignoring the whole thing, which can't bode well for the Democrats.

Agreed. The idiots in the HOR are not smart enough to come up with such a long term strategy.

All they could focus on is “IMPEACH TRUMP”. And they could not see the damage they would do to themselves as they undertook such a foolish notion.

Many experts in fact predict that while the may retain a majority in the House - it will be a smaller majority.

Yeah because by golly presenting themselves as complete worthless lying scumbags on live TV for the world to see is a sure fire way of ‘winning the senate’ lol

I hear whispers at work among independents that bolton is an honorable guy and if he says blah blah...

That’s why this thing needs to end. Now.

It is a long 9+ months until the election. The Republicans have a good chance of not only reelecting Trump, but also regaining the House. The most difficult task will be retaining a Majority in the Senate. That is where the RNC Resources need to go.

I’ve read this theory before. They think that this partisan witch hunt is going to energize their base more than Trump’s supporters. I think not. It is unlikely that Doug Jones will be re-elected with Trump on the ticket.

I’ve never trusted Bolton. I suppose it’s that goofball mustache he wears.

If Bolton was an honorable guy - President Trump would not have fired him.

He can testify to whatever he wants to. He’s trying to sell a new book. Maybe he thinks throwing dirt will help sales.

HAT TIP JOHN SOLOMON
Does the Senate have all the official govt documents from 2015-16 concerning the decision by the
State Department’s foreign aid funding arm, USAID, to pursue a joint project with Burisma Holdings?
<><> Did Hunter Biden or his American business partner Devon Archer have anything to do with seeking the project?
<><> What caused its abrupt end?
<><> What issues were identified as concerns,
<><> Who was alerted in the Obama White House, Obama State Dept, or other Obama agencies?

======================================

Does the Senate have all the official govt documents, cables, memos showing Obama's State Dept’s dealings with Burisma reps in 2015 and 2016?
At that time, Ukrainian authorities escalated their investigation of Burisma Holdings in Feb 2016 by raiding the home of the company’s owner, Mykola Zlochevsky.
<><> Burisma’s American reps were now frantically pressing the Obama State Dept to end corruption allegations against them,
<><> Burisma’s American reps were now geting their money's worth---pressing the State Dept for help invoking Hunter Biden’s name.
<><> What did Obama's State Dept officials do after being pressured by Burisma?
<><>Did the US embassy in Kiev assist Burisma’s efforts to settle the corruption case against it?
<><> Who else in the Obama government was being kept appraised?

I disagree.
I believe that the Democrates are better at the long game than we are. This may be a misstep, it may not, but it is in line with some greater play.

SOURCE CITIZEN FREE PRESS BLOG: Interesting......none of the players on the Left want to testify. The Biden’s say its ridiculous to even suggest they testify. The conga line of whistleblowers won’t testify.

Schiff has wasted our time and money for months laying blame that belongs at his own feet. He won’t testify.

No, the #1 witness they want is John Bolton. And John Bolton says he would testify if called.

So, John Bolton, why don’t you give your friends what they want and just start talking? If you have so much intriguing info that will move the needle on this national disgrace, if your coveted comments could end this so America’s employees would finally get back to work, why the hell don’t you start talking? Every news network world pay big, big bucks to interview you, John Bolton.

John Bolton didn’t get his way when trying to strong arm Trump into the neo-con Bush model of foreign policy. John thought he’d get to run the show. He didn’t because he wasn’t elected, he wasn’t the boss. He has a burr in a sensitive body part over it and he wants his turn to go before the nation and tell his tales of woe. He has hurt feelings so he’d be a perfect witness.

Witnesses over in Nancy’s House of Horrors all based their testimonies on “feelings, impressions and other heart string motives.”

No facts, no first hand evidence. Just feelings. Nothing more than feelings.

John Bolton, step up.

You don’t need a subpoena. All you need is ’60 Minutes’ with one of their hand-wringer interviewers. All you need is a spot on Morning Joke and Me-first-ka. Just call George Stephanopoulos or (gag) Wolfie.

C’mon, John, do it for God and Country. Don’t waste another moment. Stand up, share your feelings. Throw in a few tears and you’re an instant star. You’ll get asked to be a keynote speaker at the Marxist Democrat Convention this summer. Your upcoming book will sell even better.

Talk about a stunning book tour! Stand up today and try to take down the President.

Pre-sales will sky rocket! Everybody wants John Bolton and a recap of his feelings. Let’s get the party started. Dish, John, dish.

BTW, John, Trump supporters want to debate and analyze your feelings, too.

A strategy to win the senate is not some national thing. It matters not if the nation as a whole ignores the impeachment for such a strategy to succeed.

Such a strategy would be targeted to specific to senate seats. If I were them that’s what I would do and do whatever I think will win those specific seats. Can’t say this will work but we will see.

Worst case scenario. ASSuming the Rats do win the Senate, and RBG passes early in 2021, what would a re-elected POTUS Trump do?

Probably nominate a long series of originalist conservatives, have them serially rejected by the Rats, campaign against them for keeping the seat vacant for two years, and get the Senate back in 2022.

Completely agree with this, they are praying they will energize the left but they’ve done the opposite.

Apparently, on Planet Democrat being fired by Trump and having a sob story about hurt feelings is grounds for impeachment.

The fact that Bolton won't talk without a subpoena tells me his story stretches the facts if it isn't in fact untruthful. He wants cover from being sued which he would get if it's in the context of testimony under subpoena.

Sorry folks, I’ve said it since day one, and ever day I see NOTHING to change my mind...

This “impeachment” has NOTHING to do with Trump... not a damned thing.

Its internal democrat politics being sold to the public as “impeachment” for Trump.

Its about taking out BIDEN, not TRUMP...

Democrats run a perceived moderate and lose this fall, the whackadoo lefties will just scream SEE WE TOLD YOU.. WE DIDN’T GO FAR ENOUGH LEFT!.. and continue to gain influence and power. If however, they wind up with far left nominee, and get crushed, that entire argument falls flat, the far left whackadoo wing of the party loses influence and power, and the party can moderate for the 2024 cycle, when they actually may have a shot at winning.

This to me, has been classic rope a dope from day one... give the far left whackadoos exactly what they want, and then knee cap them with it.

No Democrat, short of a complete economic collapse, or some other black swan event of that scope, can win this fall. Trump is marching to a solid very very solid re-election regardless of who the nominee is.. and honest democrats know this....

The goal of all this IMHO has been from day one to take out Biden, not Trump so the party winds up with a radical left nominee... and has the electorate absolutely against them. But how do you do it? Simple, impeach, and impeach completely partisan with NOTHING, over a topic that smears Binden far more that Trump.. that being Ukraine.

Pelosi was adamant about bipartisan impeachment until UKRAINE popped up, then suddenly impeachment no matter what and as soon as possible became the goal... Why? Trump supposedly breaks the laws daily according to these people.. hell half of the things they are still screaming about Trump did or doing they could have put articles up for but didn’t... Why suddenly the 180 degree shift and full steam ahead once UKRAINE popped up? Because Ukraine smears Biden.. not Trump.

What does this impeachment do? Well it turns the Trump base up to 11, and it alienates and angers the middle. If you were going to intentionally throw an election, BIG.. you could not ask for a better game plan to do it than what the Democrats have been doing....

This is all internal Democrat party politics being played out in public... classic rope a dope... Give the radical left exactly what they want, then knee cap them with it.
