Palin was running to win, she was the only one who didn’t know they were Designated Losers.
She had to be stopped, the polls were starting to go in their favor.
Hmmm dunno about that.
In her autobiography she relates several episodes where McCain expressed frustration, even anger that she was by far the more popular of the two and that he and his toadies would make life difficult for her eg criticizing her wardrobe etc. Eventually they dropped any pretense of trying to help and worked solely to hinder.
