Ron DeSantis: Florida's Political Messiah
The Floridian ^ | September 12th 2022 | Javier Manjarres

Posted on 09/13/2022 1:28:10 PM PDT by Jacquerie

Outside of former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a devout Catholic, is arguably the greatest political threat to the legacy media and Democratic Party to come out of the Republican Party ranks and is seen as a political Messiah.

Because Gov. DeSantis has come out swinging against the current “Woke” ideology that peddles racial division, gender-affirming surgeries on children, sexualizes children, and promotes a radical and militant propaganda machine aimed solely at demonizing anyone that pushed back against their ideological narratives, there is a great big fat target that has been placed on his back.

Progressive Democrats hate DeSantis because he and his family epitomize what an everyday American family looks like.

They hate everything about him and his family.

He doesn’t care.

Now, it was only a matter of time before those very same media outlets who question his very existence and his governance set their sights on his faith and are now hypocritically using his occasional reference to Biblical scriptures against him.

Media types and the aforementioned Progressive Democrats, are saying that DeSantis has “tapped into the Christian nationalism movement,” which is nothing less than a media narrative that calls anyone that uses scripture a racist.

“DeSantis is tapping into the Christian nationalism movement in his rhetoric and policies. But unlike religious conservatives of the past, his language is more aggressive, using war imagery to decide who is the better American,” stated Miami Herald reporter Mary Ellen Klas.

In response to Klas’s statement and promotion of a Miami Herald story, former DeSantis Press Secretary Christina Pushaw questioned why her former boss was being questioned for his use of scripture.

“What’s wrong with being Christian and quoting from the Bible in speeches when he feels it’s appropriate for the occasion,” stated Pushaw.

The Miami Herald story in question is based on DeSantis’s recent reference to Ephesians 6:10-18, where he told a crowd in Miami that American rights “come from God, and not the government.”

According to a CNN article about the “Christian revolt” that culminated in the January 6th Capitol riot in Washington, D.C., the “White Christian nationalist movement” uses scripture to mask “sexism and hostility to Black People and non-White immigrants in its quest to create a White Christian America.”

So in other words, DeSantis, Sens. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or anyone that quotes the Bible, fit the mold of an unabashed Right-Wing and Bible-Thumping nutjobs that hates anyone that is not White, right?

Let's see...

Gov. DeSantis has degrees from Harvard and Yale, he's a decorated Navy Vet (Bronze Star among others), he's a family man and he's not afraid to be strong in the defense of our traditions and way of life. Oh, and DeSantis knows tact, timing and diplomacy. Reaganesque.

No wonder the lefties see him as a political threat.

I’m so tired of having Governor Ron pimped to me that I almost dislike him now. It’s probably not his fault (I said “probably”) but this “oh he’s a bigger threat to the Left than _______” stuff is - again - old and offensive.

But I don’t dislike him. He has the potential to be a really great leader - he already is, but he could be even more epic than that; this quality is obvious and does not need to be emphasized to the Right, and the Left is only going to wish death on him no matter what he does. He will do great in his second term as Gov of FL - it seems he’s on his way toward being elected, regardless of leftist hate.

On twatter, Hillary is quoting bible verses (on 9-11 no less, that corrupt and evil hag) so you could kind of see that as sort of a craze, fad, or what-have-you. Just saying.

The fact that he’s a Roman Catholic works against him as far as I’m concerned, and probably for a lot of folks. Also just saying.

The Right needs to stop trying to create a “contest” between Governor Ron and DT. The fate of our Constitutional Republic and Western Civilization itself is at stake. As I’ve noted before, getting them to rip into each other is only going to please someone like J3b Bu$h or M1tt R.

I was just feeling kind of sour thinking of another situation of enmity that has been created by those who don’t like the USA and only want to see people fight because it creates ratings for them.

They think they will dance on our grave, but they are wrong.

There will be no ratings after WWIII.

He’s also a professional politician that in itself makes leery of him. I’ll probably get over that as time marches on. However the bottom line for me, avoid professional politicians if you can.

Correct. Liberals like to denigrate Christians.

True about the prof politicians, my good FRiend.

That said, some are in it to support us Citizens and unashamedly promote traditional American values. My strong suspicion is that DeSantis falls into this category.

We’ll see!
When your next meal & mortgage payment depends on pleasing voters over time you tend to slide toward the left. A professional politician is continuously surrounded by people whispering sweet things in their ears. Over time that becomes their reality. It’s human nature, its particularly hard for these professional politicians to see that because that’s all they know. The reality of what people in private commercial\professional life go through, how actual wealth\money is made is theoretical- textbook information to them. They usually don’t acknowledge it as such because they don’t even realize it. (Also a strictly legal education is intense but very narrow. I grew up around lawyers and saw this!)

The question that I have is why are not other Republican governors acting as he is?

I wouldn’t have a problem with the catholics if they didn’t have such a problem with me. It kinda seems like the bigotry started with them, since I was a little more than 10 years ago entertaining the idea of taking orders to become a catholic nun.

He’s also a professional politician that in itself makes leery of him.

So was Ronald Reagan by the time he became Governor of California in 1966. In his case it was a forced move because there was still a conservative Hollywood and after campaigning for Goldwater in 1964, it was a Pat Brown repeat or him!

So if you are unhappy with DeSantis, imagine his opponent of 2018 instead, Andrew Gillum, over these past 4 years. Part of my problem with Trump was that he WAS NAIEVE and made very bad choices for his cabinet and appointees. Mistakes there as a non-pro politician that he is STILL PAYING FOR!

I am not unhappy with him so far.
I am and always will view professional politicians with a jaundiced eye.

Also, it’s a bit disingenuous of you to call Reagan a professional politician. At least in the sense I mean. He had a long career in entertainment than went into politics. He didn’t do it straight out of college or law school or spend a short time in government then jump into politics. Granted life in tinsel town is its own kind of unreality but it’s something nongovernment. Reagan like Trump did it the way you’re supposed to do it. Have a career with varying experiences from which you learn. Formal education only at best half the learning process! Then make something of yourself then give something back to the nation with a political career.

If it comes to DeSantis running for Prez I will vote for him. I will keep expecting him at some point to validate my view of professional politicians. I hope he never does!

The Miami Herald story in question is based on DeSantis’s recent reference to Ephesians 6:10-18, where he told a crowd in Miami that American rights “come from God, and not the government.”

The American Revolution was the only wildly successful revolution in history. Why? It was fought to gain unalienable rights endowed by the Creator Compare that to the French Revolution that was fought to gain the rights of man without reference to a Creator. That revolution ended with Napoleon.
