Trump’s Florida endorsements send DeSantis a stinging message

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a trip to Washington, DC this week in a bid to rally congressional support. That trip, however, was overshadowed by another development: former President Donald Trump picking up a parade of new endorsements, including those of several lawmakers from DeSantis’s own state.

As of Wednesday, Trump has locked down seven endorsements of 20 Florida House Republicans, compared to one that DeSantis has secured. Reps. John Rutherford, Brian Mast, and Greg Steube all announced this week that they were backing Trump in the presidential race, while Rep. Laurel Lee announced that she would be supporting DeSantis.

In another especially stinging development, Texas Rep. Lance Gooden shared his support for the former president immediately after a meeting with DeSantis, noting, “there is no doubt in my mind that … Trump is the only leader who can save America from the leftist onslaught.”

All told, Trump boasts 45 House Republican endorsements — while the Florida governor — who’s yet to formally announce his campaign — has three.

Yes! Trump is thin skinned!! I admire Trump not for his smooth personality of a career politician, but for his many spectacularly conservative deeds, the MOST important being staying out of foreign wars.

USA is screwed and in yuge debt from wars in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghan & now Ukraine war. Trillions squandered and blood spilled, WITH NOTHING TO SHOW for it. Add up the Trillions spent in foreign wars. Without those the national debt would be so much smaller.

And building the wall on southern border was another huge initiative to keep welfare dependent millions of illegals away. Add up the cost of millions of illegals Biden has allowed in welfare dollars and crime. Reagan, Bushes etc never did much.

The 3rd most important thing Trump did was try to check the huge trade imbalance with China. Add up the millions of middle-class manufacturing jobs sent to China and it boggles the mind. Manufacturing is the biggest national wealth creator. China has gone from mass poverty to largest economy in world (measured by buying power) in short 3 decades. Now China owns all mines in Africa and companies all over the world. You will be shocked to discover how many items we use everyday are made in USA by companies owned by China.

Name me ONE US president who accomplished anything even close to Trump. So, I can overlook childish behavior by Trump. I always look at the BIG picture.

Are you talking about the same Reagan who helped China get admitted into WTO? And you trippled federal spending in 8 years?

Trump’s Florida endorsements send DeSantis a stinging message

| What stinging message? Who in 2023 thinks endorsements from politicians matter at all to voters?

don’t forget how for the last 50-60 years the RINO scum have fund-rasied off of appointing judges to overturn Roe v. Wade, and then when we finally get Republicans elected it’s awww shcucks, David Souter isn’t conservative after all. Awww shucks... Anthony Kennedy is a moderate..... awww shucks.... Traitor Roberts is a RINO backstabbing deep stater....

Only Trump accomplished the dream of overturning Roe v. Wade. Any conservative Christian voting against Trump is an absolute fool.

Before you get too enthusiastic about the “fiscal PDJT”...Fed government spending jumped 57.60% under Pres. Trump, the federal debt increased by $8.2 Trillion, and he didn’t even propose a balanced federal budget in 4 tries. He was strong in other areas but fiscally not much.

The message is that DeSantis is not especially well liked by his former GOP House colleagues who currently have to deal with him as Florida governor. DeSantis is a good governor but is not very personable.

Trump improved trade balance. Reagan did the opposite.
Trump built a wall on border. Reagan never did.
Fiscal conservatives do not win.
So I will take MAGA president over others

They don’t. What matters is Trump will win nomination.Desantis will not in 2024. He is not as popular among Republicans as Trump.

Who in 2023 thinks endorsements from politicians matter at all to voters?

Shhh, let them think this is important. They don't have much to run on other than some polls and endorsements from RINOs.

Why would anyone endorse an undeclared candidate?

Also, don't tell anyone, but you are allowed to change your endorsement before the primaries.

All of Trump’s accomplishments in the face of a RINO Establishment which for years told us they couldn’t possibly do those things is one reason I’m voting for Trump.

Another is for actually keeping his campaign promises. I have not seen a Republican keep his word to the voters like this since Ronaldus Magnus.

Finally, its his enemies. His enemies are my enemies. So the more the corporate media, the deep state and the Democrat party have a shrill hissy fit the likes of which we had never seen before starting the night of the 2016 election, the more it shows me, Trump is the right man for the job. If they love him (Obama), I hate him. If they hate him (Trump), I love him. I am for whatever harms these people. The truth is always exactly the opposite of whatever it is they say about any subject. As I said, they are the enemy.

China was admitted to the WTO in 2001. Reagan had been out of office for well over a decade by that point.

As for the Budget in the 1980s, we had a Cold War to win. Reagan did that. The budget deficit was 128 Billion or 3.9% of GDP in his first year and was 152.6 billion or 2.7% of GDP in his last year. Federal expenditures were 745 billion in his first budget and were 1143 billion in his last budget. How exactly is that tripling the federal budget?

Hahaha
Reagan laid the ground work for China admittance.
Those things don’t happen instantly. Nixon also to blame for opening China.

Trump was the FIRST PRESIDENT to impose tariffs on Chinese imports and for that I will support him for ever.
And trying hard to build a wall which Reagan never did.
Reagan was badly outmaneuvered by speaker O’Neill. A very nice person, but Reagan was not high IQ.

Considering Reagan never had a Republican House and he had to rebuild the military and won the Cold War he did way more than your hero. The only outstanding thing Trump did was his judicial appointments and you need to give The Federalist Society and your least favorite KY senator credit for that. On everything else he was average to mediocre.
