Donations to the Republican National Committee (RNC) have hit an eight-year low, sources told the Washington Post on Monday.

The diminished donations raise concerns about whether or not RNC leadership is properly aligned with the party’s grassroots to counter an unpopular Democrat president seeking reelection. […]

The RNC raised the lowest amount of money since former President Trump arose as the leader of the GOP, the Post reported:

Who is going to donate to the RINO National Committee? Only RINOs and Democrats looking to out fund real Republicans.

Of course the spin here will be that it’s Trump’s fault that people aren’t donating to the RNC. While true, they’ll conveniently sweep under the rug the full implications as to why people aren’t handing money to the RNC.

The people want Trump, not to kiss the rump.

If they aren’t smart enough to see why, it’s past time for the GOP to disappear. They haven’t represented conservatives for years!

I got a personal call from them the other day. It wasn’t a typical money solicition but they introduced themselves and said they wanted to do an interview and discussion about my perceptions of the party as I have been a pretty big donor for years up until 2020.

The lady was literate, smart and nice - maybe mid 40s. She actually seemed like she was caring and wanted to go into why I quit giving them money.

I said I now will only give money to specific candidates and never again give to RNC or Senatorial or congressional orgs.

By the end of the 20 minute conversation she was literally yelling at me over the phone as I was ruining the party. And how short sighted I was, etc.

I couldn’t believe the nerve.

What’s more surprising: that donations are down, or that they aren’t down all the way to zero?

Somebody ask Rona what she thinks happened to that
Red Wave of 2022?
At some point, it’s time for The Party to start changing leadership and stop making excuses for another campaign result that looks like another 4 flat tires situation.

Ironic that you call them “The Party”, which is very 1984-esque.
Franklin Roosevelt’s rapid conversion from Constitutionalism to the doctrine of unlimited government is an oft-told story. But I am here concerned not so much by the abandonment of states’ rights by the national Democratic Party — an event that occurred some years ago when that party was captured by the socialist ideologues in and about the labor movement — as by the unmistakable tendency of the Republican Party to adopt the same course. […] Thus, the cornerstone of the Republic, our chief bulwark against the encroachment (on) individual freedom by Big Government, is fast disappearing under the piling sands of absolutism.

The Republican Party, to be sure, gives lip service to states’ rights. We often talk about “returning to the states their rightful powers”; the Administration has even gone so far as to sponsor a federal-state conference on the problem. But deeds are what count, and I regret to say that in actual practice, the Republican Party, like the Democratic Party, summons the coercive power of the federal government whenever national leaders conclude that the states are not performing satisfactorily. …

The Conscience of a Conservative (1960), pp. 24-25
This is a decades-old problem that we were way too slow to respond to.
