I do not recall a senate leader stepping down, or dieing while serving as leader.
I recall several in the house, DeLay & others, but not the senate

I look forward to January when the R senate make-up will be slightly more AmFirst/MAGA/populist...or perhaps seriously moreso. A leader who was not a member of the uni-party would be most welcome.
Would not make much difference but if Mitch leaves now the rat Governor will ignore the law and appoint a rat replacement, he has said so.
