Press Release

Rockville, Maryland - Republican candidates seeking election to the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee have officially joined "The Real Republican Slate" of grassroots conservative activists planning to provide new leadership for both the local and state GOP immediately after the 2002 elections. Note that if ten or more members of this particular slate are elected to the local Republican Central Committee, they will constitute a majority of the future committee members elected by local voters statewide in Maryland's September 10, 2002 Primary Election.

This slate of candidates, for both public and party offices, is comprised of a diverse group of conservatives who truly support and defend the U.S. Constitution and, in particular, the Bill of Rights. Among the many professionals represented are information technology manager, engineer, teacher, CPA, attorney, librarian, painter, security specialist as well as other trades and vocations. This diverse group of future Republican leaders is much more representative of the "heart and soul" of the Republican Party than the so-called "moderate" leadership that has ruled both the local and state GOP for the last several years.

"Win, lose or draw," said District 18 candidate Steven Dirlik, "the Republican Party's role is to help preserve democracy by offering voters an alternative to the socialist-light agenda of the left." "That can be accomplished by establishing a Republican Party that stands for the traditional American values of freedom and personal responsibility" chimed in District 14 candidate Joseph Sladki, "Let's get this Party back on track by electing a central committee that will act to accomplish those goals."

Since the 1994 Republican Revolution, which even produced gains for both the local and state parties here in Maryland, the Montgomery County Republican Party, unlike others nationwide, has been in steady decline. It's decline has been due to a number of factors including limousine liberal control over the majority of current and recently departed members, influence peddling by special interest lobbyists and behind-the-scenes overemphasis on pernicious fundraising practices versus local grassroots party building. "When the candidates of The Real Republican Slate are elected this September 10th they will provide new party leadership" said Augustus Alzona, At-Large candidate and campaign manager for the slate, "then the Party can begin the healing process required to bring back the GOP's severely neglected grassroots conservative base voters."

At-Large candidate Mary Greta Patten, a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), is running for office as part of this slate "in order to empower the Republican voters of this county with a clear-cut choice."

Montgomery County Board of Education candidates Robert Holden (At-Large) of Germantown, Joseph Sladki (District 1) of Laytonsville, and Maryland Comptroller candidate Augustus Alzona of Bethesda have also joined the slate for their respective public office races, too.

Contributions should be sent to: The Real Republican Slate, P.O. Box 341974, Bethesda, Maryland 20827-1974

Thanks for the bump.

Regardless of whether the "NATIONAL GOP" has the majority in Congress or not after November, the Party here in Maryland needs to welcome back our conservative base and really stand for more than just being a haven for the RINOs and their shills to influence peddle on Capitol Hill.

PING!!!

Purge the neo-pinkos from the party. Then after they're out of office, commence to beating them about the head and neck with our founding documents.

I'm waiting for mush-brained "new tone" blockheads to show up and tell us all what a rotten idea this is.

Isn't it time to interject that you can't do this kind of thing overnight, it took 4,000 years to get here and it's going to take at least that long to fix things?

< sarcasm > Why I can't believe the audacity of these fools. < /sarcasm >

Nice constitution:

DECLARATION OF RIGHTS.

We, the People of the State of Maryland, grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious liberty, and taking into our serious consideration the best means of establishing a good Constitution in this State for the sure foundation and more permanent security thereof, declare:

Article 1. That all Government of right originates from the People, is founded in compact only, and instituted solely for the good of the whole; and they have, at all times, the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their Form of Government in such manner as they may deem expedient.

Art. 2. The Constitution of the United States, and the Laws made, or which shall be made, in pursuance thereof, and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, are, and shall be the Supreme Law of the State; and the Judges of this State, and all the People of this State, are, and shall be bound thereby; anything in the Constitution or Law of this State to the contrary notwithstanding.

Art. 3. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution thereof, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people thereof.

Art. 4. That the People of this State have the sole and exclusive right of regulating the internal government and police thereof, as a free, sovereign and independent State. . .

. . .Nothing shall prohibit or require the making reference to belief in, reliance upon, or invoking the aid of God or a Supreme Being in any governmental or public document, proceeding, activity, ceremony, school, institution, or place. . . .more

Thanks for the ping. Keep that ping-busy!

I've sat in on a GOP Central Committee meeting in P.G. County. It's little why things are so bad in the county. Most the the PGGOPCC were McCainiacs, and they were complaining that no effort was made to get independants to vote in the the GOP primary. (This was in June of 2001) And there was no quorum (for the third meeting in a row).

Best wished to the Real Republican Slate. Hopefully P.G. County will follow in their footsteps. I would like to get involved, but I don't have the time right now. (My district on the CC is currently vacant, so I could probably step right up to the CC if I want.)

Whats with all the broken images on the MDGOP page. It looks sloppy.
