Hustler Publisher Files in Calif. Recall

LOS ANGELES - Porn king Larry Flynt wants to rule California

The Hustler magazine publisher has filed initial paperwork to run in the gubernatorial recall election and says he may spend a large amount of his own money if people take his candidacy seriously.

The registered Democrat, civil libertarian and free speech advocate said he'd solve California's budget woes by expanding slot machine gambling. His holdings include several casinos.

"California is the most progressive state in the union," said Flynt, 61. "I don't think anyone here will have a problem with a smut peddler as governor."

Flynt had not yet paid the $3,500 filing fee by Thursday afternoon, according to the California Secretary of State Web site.

More than 250 people statewide have taken the very first step of filing the paperwork with county registrars, according to the site. Other quirky candidates include several men named Gray Davis and Angelyne, the blonde, buxom artist made famous by her depiction on numerous Hollywood billboards.

To get on the Oct. 7 ballot, declared candidates also need at least 65 signatures from voters registered in their party.

"civil libertarian and free speech advocate"

Surely the author means civil libertine. Trust me, the incestuous pig isn't going to win the election.

Bwahahahhaahhah. Run Larry! This guy has about as much of chance of winning even California than Geoff Fieger did of winning Michigan in 1998.

Geoff lost all counties outside of Wayne and got 35%.

I'd say less.

Fieger didn't rape chickens or abuse his daughter like Flint.

California Republicans need a heads up on a golden opportunity to point out real racisim: The liberal claim that Hispanics are too slow to understand what is happening in the Grey-out election and therefore the election should be delayed.

Is that racism or what?

In my Catholic church most white clergy, deacons and lay leaders are liberal (pro-abortion, gay marriage, kidcare, Hilary, anti-war). Most Hispanics are conservative (pro-2d amendment, pro-war, pro-life, pro-traditional family, anti-kidcare, pro-Bush). The white leaders have the English congregations sing alternate song stanzas in English and Spanish.

But they don't let the Spanish congregation sing alternate stanzas in both languages because it would place a burden on Hispanics and embarrass them ... and besides it is imperialistic to impose our language on them. Then the liberals wonder why the Hispanics are leaving the Catholic church for the Assembly of God and Pat Robertson.

If California Republicans would lock Pete Wilson in the closet and have high expectations of Hispanics, both R's and H's could be pleasantly surprised. (The L's could be unpleasantly surprised. The voting Hispanics are especially pro-war.) I get a lot of the same Spanish TV here in Illinois that is in California. The door is open. Are we going to slam it shut or what?

Well, if MSNBC is correct then there will be like 250 names on the ballot and if Davis is recalled, someone will win the recall with less than 10% of the vote. What a fu**ing mess.

I am not a fan of Larry Flynt. But I have to hand it to him, he made one remark which says what needs to be said. When asked about his paralysis, he said "I am only paralyzed from the waist down, while Gray Davis is paralyzed from the neck up." Indeed! I hope he has a few more such wittisisms to offer for the recall.
