At some point, no one can say precisely when, libertarians apparently swore a feudal oath of fealty to the Republican Party ROTFLMAO, I must have been absent that day myself.

libertarians are far more in tune with the demodogs than with the GOP. actually, they probably ought to just go whole hog and throw in with the pot-smoking tree-hugging free-love Greenies ...

LOL, the ones that will vote for Dean are the same ones that vote for Harry Browne every 4 years, No loss or consequences, forever adrift in the abyss

I was in the Libertarian party, and open borders was a key point in their platform. That is why I left. Too bad, because I agreed with nearly everything else. But it doesnt matter what else they beleived in , if they let in 100 million other foreign people who will not vote Libertarian and who dont beleive in Libertarian principles. The Libertarian party is near perfect(in a closed system), except when they treat other countries, particularly communist countries, as equal partners. They seem to have a lot of trouble dealing with tyrants as equals giving them whatever labor, skills, manufactured goods the communists or tyrants want to get from us.

I don't have much use for libertarians or the religious right. Social issues tend to creep too much into their politics. It clouds their ability to size up the big picture.
For instance; I liked Alan Keyes at the start of the 2000 primaries. When I saw that he couldn't win I made my second choice... Bush. He was clearly better than McCain. Now if I was a libertarian, I would have started with Keyes and on election day, I would have written him in.
Perfect sense to a blockhead.

Fascinating article about Libertarians. Thanks for posting.

No offense intended, but maybe it is the whole republican establishment and their supporters that need work. I am sick of the blame game.
