[history]
For the longest time, as right-wing pundits mercilessly mocked lefties and Ann Coulter demonized liberals as "traitors," it seemed that a cowed left had lost its voice and its spirit. Michael Moore ranted, Gore Vidal issued a pair of scathing anti-Bush pamphlets, but it wasn't until Al Franken came along that the left regained some of the breath that got knocked out of it by the Florida election of 2000.

On a serious note, Franken argued that the reputed liberal bias in the media is a right-wing myth;
I remind the reader that this article appears in the San Francisco Chronicle.
said Bush's tax cuts favor only the top 10 percent of Americans, despite the president's claim to the contrary;
Now, there's a fresh perspective.
and questioned Bush's justification for invading Iraq ("It's one thing to lie about having sex, it's another thing for a president to lie about why we're sending young men and women to battle").
So when do we get to the serious part?

Idiots supporting an even bigger idiot. Just look at Franken...who could take anything he has to say as relevant?

Ain't it ironic that Franken's picture is the most prominent on the cover of his latest book?

Al Franken as intellectual genius and savior of the left. What next? They should run him for president, probably.

Yeah...and O'Reilly's already got the the liberals at NPR to admit they're liberal. Heck, Last night O'Reilly had some Traub guy on from the NY Times Magazine who admitted his left-wing diatribe against O'reilly was unfare to him. As much as Bill annoys me, he has been taking apart the left wing piece by piece..getting them to even admit their hatred and bias. Last nite was a hoot.

Hey...you know the liberal slogan: Make love, not war. Clinton was in a unique position to do both at the same time.

I'm not defending Franken here, but he has other people on the cover of his book as well. Ann Coulter is the ONLY person on the cover of her book. There must be a better argument.

to save the country from its malaise.Nice subtle try to equate today's economy(which Drudge said yesterday may come in at 7% growth(!) for the 3rd quarter) with the disaster of the Carter administration.
Franken has called himself ''a mere comedian with only a passing knowledge of current events," but at the same time he said he "wants to change the dialogue in this country and get rid of this president."
Typical un or ill informed leftist.

I'm just saying that if you're going to have a book called Lies and Lying Liars Who Tell Them, and you're going to have pictures of those "Liars", it's best not to put yourself on the cover. People might get the wrong (or right) idea.;-)

On a serious note, Franken argued that the reputed liberal bias in the media is a right-wing myth;Please provide proof of this, Mr. Franken. We on the right have about a century's worth of evidence to prove our viewpoint that the media is liberally biased. Perhaps you should sit down with Bernard Goldberg to receive some education on this subject.

What crowd .. I thought there were about 100. I don't call that a crowd; but I guess for the dems it might be.
