My husband and I were watching Scarborough Country last Friday (November 14) night, and they were discussing Rush Limbaugh's return. The guests for the segment were Edwin Meese, David Horowitz and Ed Schultz (the liberal Rush, yeah right).
David Horowitz brought up Ted Kennedy and his little incident with DUI and Mary Jo, and Schultz blew it off as being in a different era.
WHAT? An era when the death of some woman was never to be looked at, no matter how suspicious, because of the accused's name? The link to the show transcipt is here. and it is about 7 hits of the page down button to get to this:
excerpt
(LAUGHTER) HOROWITZ: The credibility of Rush Limbaugh-the test of Rush Limbaugh will be on Monday and in the days to come.
And youve got to give him that chance. If you want to say-I wouldnt even say rehabilitate himself. Hes going to explain to his audience what happened. And you already saw, he said, I dont want to be a role model, if I pull through this. You have got to think of the free ride that Teddy Kennedy gotten. Killed a woman, DUI, committed manslaughter.
(CROSSTALK)
SCHULTZ: Different era. Totally era. That was not in the information age.
HOROWITZ: You are a hypocrite.
(CROSSTALK)

I am shocked no one else caught this, except David Horowitz.
You know, I was watching a special on the Kennedy curse last night, and for a minute, I felt bad for ol' Teddy, he lost his 2 older brothers, he was never expected to be anything like they were... then he spoke at a press conference after Chappaquiddick, and equated what had happened with the assasinations of his brothers. Jeez puleeze. Tying his druken driving murdering accident with assasinations? That's a stretch.
It was a different era, it was an era when the media was controlled by liberals and manslaughter, whether voluntary or involuntary, was ok if your name was Kennedy.
I have forwarded this to mediaresearch.org already.
I really dislike that Ed Schultz guy. he thinks he is on par with Rush, and in his eyes, as with many leftists, he thinks if he yells and interrupts and lies, he is being like Rush. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I can't wait for this liberal media outlet to get started. I wanna see it crash and burn.

The good old days when you can run from the police in the middle of a BJ and kill the witness.

Don't watch Scarborough but would have truly enjoyed this exchange with the odious Mr. Schultz (saviour of all things liberal) and Horowitz (who is a fave of mine!)

Depends on your name!!
To: eyespysomething
How do you measure success? I think you measure success as many times as youre on with Joe Scarborough. --Ed Schultz He goes on to say that he's on the show a lot ;) Well, that's an odd way to measure it.
To: OldFriend
He was terribly rude, interrupting everyone, yelling, and then trying to say it was all in fun. Wasn't there a thread this week about how liberals call names, make accusations etc and then say Oh, I'm just joking.
Fools. Let them keep fooling themselves into oblivion.
To: eyespysomething
Exactly. You know, part of Rush's success is he NEVER yells and interrupts. He always calls his audience "ladies and gentlemen", he calls callers "sir" - even liberals! he calls them "my friends". That decency shows through his entire show, and is striking in its comparison to many talkers out there.
By the way, the seminal change is Horowitz's life, from liberal to conservative, was instigated by a murder done by black panthers whom he had worked for and helped. When he saw the hypocrisy, and the pass the liberal media was willing to give them, he was honest enough to reevaluate his life.
So this subject must hit close to home.

Liberals seem to think the road to radio talk show success lies in being as obnoxious as possible. Ed was a completely rude, scoffing pr*ck & Scarborough was far too nice to him.
I was embarrassed for Ed Meese for having to parley with him.

Yep, I remember that comment also. I think I made the "HUH?" Scooby Doo noise to my husband. Many ways to measure success, and number of appearances on Joe Scarborough's show isn't the scale I would use. Maybe TV appearances in totality.

Gandalf had the reply for that situation. "I do not bandy words of insolence with THe Mouth of Sauron."

Don't know a single person who has ever seen Shultz in action who considers him anything but boorish.....and that's an understatement if he excused Chappaquidick with that flip excuse.

I saw Schultz on C-SPAN a couple of weeks ago and again on one of the cable channels. He's a definite loser. He is so full of himself as to be pathetic. Sure, Rush is full of himself but he does it with humor. Schultz does it with arrogance.
He's sort of a poor man's Paul Begala. He was followed on C-SPAN by Mona Charen, who was asked, by the host, what she thought of him. She basically said that if that's his schtick, he ain't gonna make it.

I am Horowitz's age and also grew up in a home where both parents were card carrying members of the Communist Party.
My mother soon saw thru this but my father remained an avowed communist his entire life as did his whole family.
They lived and worked and prospered here and continued to hate democracy. Inexplicable to this day.

I remember the cas when it came up in District Court. The DA, Edmund Dinis wanted to do the right thing by the law but got completly rolled over by the Kenndedy Machine.
Different era? Things haven't changed much.

Schultz blew it off as being in a different era If I'm not mistaken TK was a US Senator then and is still a US Senator. How can the era be different? More liberal spin.

instigated by a murder done by black panthers Hillary had a role to play in that drama back then.

So it was a different era, doesn't make murder okay. I suppose Lincoln's assasination wasn't a crime because it "was a different era." Excuses for Senator Toad.
