My mom is one of his biggest fans. It was a great pleasure for me to call her and inform her of this, it made her so happy. Her first reaction, 'Really? IT'S ABOUT TIME!'

Something, I'm not sure what, prompted me to listen to his "Greatest" CD during my morning commute. Hollywood Nights, Old Fashioned Rock and Roll, Against the Wind, In Your Time

My kind of music...

After he married in the '90s and had his two children, he spent much of his time watching his young family grow.

Sound like it's time to update "Against the Wind" with another verse.

"I hope we maybe influenced some minds and hearts at a time when his career was very quiet," Verona said Thursday. Seger's song "Rambling, Gambling Man" was his first national hit in 1968, but Detroiters flocked to teen clubs like the Hideout to see him perform early hits like "East Side Story" and "2 + 2."

And don't forget "Heavy Music," parts one and two! I saw Seger just once, at a junior college gym right after his first album came out. He was part of a bill that included The Psychedelic Stooges (Iggy), the MC5, the Frost, and Teagarden & Van Winkle. Geeze!

How 'bout "sittin' way up firm and high"?
or, "tryin' to make some front page drive-in news"?

Did you see this?

Seems Seger and Motown were all I ever heard on the radio sitting on my porch in Livonia during the 60's early 70s. Didn't know then that anyone else out there was singing except them.

I named my horse Katmandu after the Seger song.

Then I met Seger in person in the 80s. I am no longer a fan.
