If the ATF gets their way, it will really piss off my kid. We have built several medium and high power kits. Launching these babies is really fun. They kick butt on the old Estes and Centuri (yes I'm that old) rockets we used to launch as kids.

The ATF and Justice Department really have no clue what they are doing. As usual they go after soft targets...sounds kind of familiar?

I'm sure there are much more effective ways to do what they suspect can be done with model rockets. They need to concentrate on that not law abiding citizens trying to teach their kids rocket science.

They know exactly what they are doing. They are trying to make a fed crime out of it. They want playing with this stuff and thinking about it a heinous crime worthy of decades in prison. They want it ended both, because they fear it and they savor the bogus artificial position it elevates them to.

I was shooting these things off when I was a young pup in the USAF, stationed in Bangkok.

We had a little 'listening' place, between the runways of the Bangkok airport and the military, north of town.

I 'terrorized' an old fellow tending goats once, when a three stager managed to get horizontal at a height of about 8 feet above the landscape and zoomed over him and his flock.

I could not understand ALL of whatever he was saying, but he was SURE was excited!!!

Well, peaceful citizens practicing a hobby are less likely to kill you than are drug gangs when you bother them. Therefore the BATFags make the obvious choice and hassle rocketeers.

The purpose of a bureaucracy is to employ bureaucrats. Prevention of terrorism is not the goal of these people, from that Mineta moron right down to the GS whatever clerks shuffling the paperwork. What this bunch is doing is exersizing their power for the agrandizement of the various arseholes in command of this bunch of thugs.
