20 years ago, clear cutting of forests caused large reflecting areas on the planet that was going to cause the next ice age (watch Carl Sagan in the Cosmos series).

Obvisously, the answer to soot is to clear cut more forests so that we can get more reflecting surface on the planet.

How can this be???

The European Union is much more deforested, and its populace drives many more diesel automobiles than anyplace on earth. How can this be? They are Socialists... they care about the environment, doncha know?
