Can you ask her if she will be doing a report on CPAC for WABC? She mentioned it earlier today but never got back to me.

Checking in with a live report. This place is crazy! Thousands of people - all wearing conservative buttons, Bush-Cheney stickers, lots of red - it is a beautiful thing!

Cheney goes on in an hour - hundreds of people are all ready lined up to get in. The really great news is a lot of them are college kids and boy are they excited. We were cleared out of the lecture hall at 12:00 so that the security team could do what ever they need to do for the next two hours. All but one elevator has been shut down as well.

Sat next to a guy that went to the first CPAC - said it was about 400 people and no elected official wanted to participate (too chicken). Now there are 4,000 and elected officials are proud to be part of the program.

There are more sponsors this year than ever before. We even have the ominous presence of the ACLU. Lots of TV cameras, reporters from the Washington Times, etc.

Reporters were asking questions about how conservatives feel about the spending that is going on - I think this is going to be the hot button against Bush. Haven't heard anything yet on immigration.

More later.....

Well, about half of us didn't get in to Cheney! Way oversold/overattended. There are probably a thousand people milling around that were turned away. And the people that did get in waited 90+ minutes.

Lots of freepers here - the DC Freeper booth is rocking. And RightTalk (which I guess is the moniker that FreeRepublic.net radio efforts has taken on) is doing lots of talking.

I guess the poor ACLU people are getting verbally beat up by some of the attendees which is too bad. They should either be ignored or treated with respect.

Talked with the American Civil Rights Institute (Ward Connely - Prop. 54 in California). Seeing more stuff regarding minorities and conservatism - excellent trend!

Loking good at CPAC! For some reason they couldn't get an audio feed from the main room until Cheney's speech, but all is OK now! Should be smooth sailing on the www.rightalk.com webcast!

ACLU defended abortion protesters. They were actually a defendant (they had standing because they do ads containing candidates' names), not just a friend of the court, in the CFR case, and now are defending Rush's privacy. They are way back in a corner near the the coat check and the bathrooms, right next to the Conservatives for Peace table.

Couldn't battle the crowds to see/hear the Vice President, but there's lots more coming up.

Died and gone to heaven.

Hi all, this is conspiratoristo, coming to you live from CPAC

We are experinecng steady traffic at the booth, I left the hotel this morning and spent half the day over on the hill lobbying my rep, Steve LaTourette, (R OH-14), about immigration control and the Tom Tancredo approach, which is for secure borders, collection and deportation of illegal immigrants, and the denial of government services to illegal immigrants.

Of course, the is in stark contrast to the GWBush approach approach which resembles Bob Barker on the Price is Right: "Come on Up, We Have Plenty of Everything, Y'all Come and Share".

It is a lot of fun here, renewing some friendships made at the Rally for America I two years ago. The only bad part about it so far is sharing a room with Badray. He snores so heavy that I thought there was a train running through the room last night. If he does it again tonight I might have to choose between smothering him with a pillow or slitting his throat with my K-Bar.

I wish everyone could have this experience, and I am collecting all sorts of materials for future Heritage Club meetings.

In God We Trust.....Semper Fi

Hi all! Libertina back again.. Poor BadRay, I'm afraid that he's going to be attacked tonight with a snore strip across the nose from his roomie if he isn't careful ;)
Registered has a huge laminated photo of GW Uncle Sam Bush and it's all I can do not to take the cash offered by people who want to buy it. When it gets to 500 K I'm going to sell and take off for Mexico...er...an island somewhere ;)

Also, Abner has been doing a great job of snagging VIP's for interviews on RighTalk... I think they really just see her and come over to chat :)

Hey Conspiriatoristo, glad your got in to see LaTourette.

Hope you made him squirm. I am sure he gave you a lot of professional politician “Double Speak”.

Wish I could be there with you all and “Hobnob with all the Hoober Goobers”. (A reference to an old WMMS character (Mr. Leonard) from the 80’s for the uninitiated)

But someone has to stay at home and make the money to pay the taxes that the spending of seems to be the purpose of the city that you all have visited this week.
