In it, you see that Mr. Al-Khafaji donated to John Kerry. If you put the spelling that abc has, then you don't find this. Here is a more accurate article Iragi Oil for Blood Program

I search for this and didn't see it. Am I drifting into the tin foil hat zone, or do you all think someone at ABC deliberatly did this?

Most Arab names are like Smith or Jones or Williams.
An infinite variety of BS stories and hoax e-mails have been caused by this problem.

Have you seen this? Another foreign oil contributor to Kerry.

If it would protect a democrat or communists to tamper with it, the only reason they would not tamper with it is because they could not.

Anyway to find out more about this story? There seems to be some confusion about this name.
Also, has Edwards released his campaign contributors list yet? If not, it's amazing even the liberal press isn't all over him.

Shakir al-Khafaji, an American citizen who came to the United States in 1976, has contributed to the campaigns of former U.S. Rep. David Bonior, Rep. John Conyers, Sen. Carl Levin all Michigan Democrats and the Clinton/Gore 1996 Primary Committee

A little over half of his donors are trial lawyers, eastern liberal (NYC) stock brokers and insurance companies.

In this article, abcnews has Shaker Al-Khafaji's name as Shakir Alkhalaji and removed the dash after the Al. Why?The original document was in Arabic.
One of the Muslins at the tobacco store up the street told me that it's not possible to mispell words in Arabic, that once you learn the language and alphabet, you're set (I don't really understand how this works but I'm taking his word for it). But translating words and names from Arabic to another language is a different matter. In other words, the name is probably not hyphenated in Arabic, and translator's preference or regional custom determines whether it will be hyphenated after translation from Arabic characters into our alphabet.
Besides, as someone said, these guys only seem to have about a dozen names.

He donated to Jim McDermott's "defense fund", too. Right after McDermott returned to the US after visiting Iraq.
