Some wounds never heal, especially if they involve money. Just ask Dan Lungren.
The California Republican Assembly, the conservative-leaning, 15,000-member group that touts itself as the state's largest GOP volunteer organization, has been circulating bitter remembrances of a 1999 feud between Lungren and the California Republican Party.

When you lose as badly as Lungren did, what the heck are you doing with half a million in cash on hand at the end? Geez Louise, that money could have been spent on the close legislative races, or it could have been spent gearing up for races in 2k.
Never forget that Lungren's incompetence is what gave us the Gray Davis catastrophe.
