'Mob' Attacks Men In Police Custody

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An angry crowd descended on a crime scene in Northwest Jacksonville Sunday afternoon and attacked three suspects in police custody.
A Channel 4 photographer who witnessed the incident said there were several tense minutes before officers could get what was described as a mob under control.
It started after patrol officers and homicide detectives were called to Fairfax and West 11th Street just before 5 p.m., where a man was shot and killed. Investigators said a that what began as a fight over a woman ended with someone pulling a gun and shooting.
But a few blocks away on Myrtle Avenue, a crowd was still gathered at another crime scene where two men were shot inside a car less than two hours earlier. Police said one victim died at the scene and another was rushed to the hospital.
