Actually, my way is a hedge too. ;-)
The fact is that we don't yet have the political heft to get it done.
But at least my way doesn't try and acknowledge something that isn't true...that a flat income tax is a viable or a good alternative.
He just isn't advanceing the cause as well as he could, or extracting the maximum political advantage from this very politically potent issue.
That's my opinion, for what it's worth.
