Morford: What Are You So Afraid Of? (In BushCo's fear-drunk world, only 1 question really matters)

[history]
Fear is in. Fear is the new black. Spritz it on your face and neck, walk around the world all quivering and tremulous, waiting to be crushed by some dark massive throbbing wall of evil at any moment.
Fear is everywhere. Classrooms, water coolers, truck commercials. Fear is our government's raison d'etre, the calling card of the GOP. It will be the prime motivator in this year's presidential election, as Karl Rove will command that Dubya beat the drum of fear loud and hard and nonstop, smirking all the way.

Miss Morford, HERE's what I'm afraid of:
Now go crawl back in your dank, fetid little hole, and pull it in after you.

Wouldn't the left prefer us to forget 9/11........then they'll be screaming to the high heavens about why we didn't connect the dots.........

Fear works both ways. The left fears changes in the weather, so it calls down threats of global warming and calls for bans and restrictions on vehicles, chemicals, etc. It fears genetically engineered food and nuclear energy that could feed the starving and provide clean energy, solving many of its other fears.
It fears a movie by Mel Gibson. It fears deeply religious individuals. It fears that "just around the next corner is an enormous gorge of" racist, anti-Semitic Christians, who are going to lynch anyone who doesn't agree with them. And yet, it fears a Jewish, neo-Conservative plan for world domination.
It fears George W. Bush. It fears an America that returns to not being ashamed of itself. It fears that its utopian vision is going nowhere and is being discarded. Mind you, in that may turn out to be true. And that's that the left's big fear.
Interestingly enough, though, Morford knows this: He writes:
But once you tap into something divine and deeply personal and free of the spewings of the hate-filled homophobic Right and the whiny politically correct Left...
Hmmm....

Wow, so much drivel in one space. Although I found something she said that I agree with;
After all, fear drives a Hummer.
Ask your neighborhood neoconservative homophobe just what, exactly, would happen if, say, gay marriage were to be legalized nationwide.
While I'm not a neocon, I would guess Miss Morford would finally get an engagement ring.

You know, I keep hearing how Bush is campaigning on fear.
Personally, I'm not afraid, and do you want to know why (I'm gonna tell you anyway...)
because we're actually fighting back, not sitting around waiting for the next attack. We are taking control of the situation and doing something.
So, all these pansy-a$$ed libruhls can STFU and go hide in their closets or under their futons. Me? I'll go about my business, WITHOUT FEAR, knowing I don't have to walk around being scared. Someone is confronting the bad guys for me.
Thank you President Bush, for letting me go on without fear after September 11.
PS If some of these people believed in God and Jesus, they may not have to walk around skeered all the time. I have nothing to fear with God by my side.

The loony left fears free speech and free thinking, particularly on campus, where they use the intimidation of "policially correct" speech policies on conservative students, reinforced by a liberal dominated faculty/administration.
When did our campuses turn into reeducation camps. I am at the UMASS Amherst gulag muself. Stalin would be proud.
To: presidio9
This is so full of hypocracy that one hardly knows where to start.
First, what party was it that ran ads stating that black churches would be burned and blacks would be enslaved if the Republicans were in power?
Second, what party is it that is always trying to keep the pro-infanticide crowd riled up by claiming that the Republicans want to eliminate their ability to legally murder their unborn children?
I'll give the not-so-bright a hint: It starts with a "D" and ends with a Rat.

You are so right. The left ESPECIALLY fears George W. Bush. They've turned mild-mannered George into a vampire-fanged, blood-dripping monster and have raised a lot of money for wimpy candidates by instilling and inflaming fear daily.
