I have a feeling that if they have gone to the trouble of planning all this out, that they already have the pro-sodomite judges lined up to tie this thing up in court for years as it works its way up through California's court to the US Supreme court. Meanwhile, the first CA court that rules the licenses legal will open the floodgates in California.
The courts are no longer a just and fair field of battle for this fight. The governor (executive branch) needs to call out the national guard and bring the SF Mayor (executive branch) into line without appealing to the judicial.

I hope no one is setting themselves up for a megadisappointment by trusting in Ahnahld to step up to the plate and take a stand in this situation -- because even if he does (fat chance, IMO), it won't be the one we'd like to see. It wasn't all that long ago, recall, that he voiced an opinion in favor of this sort of thing, after all.

The governor (executive branch) needs to call out the national guard and bring the SF Mayor (executive branch) into line without appealing to the judicial. As I've stated before, all that would do is make Newsom a media hero. Has there been any word yet from Arnie? I haven't read anything about his opinion on this, so far, he seems to not even want to wag a finger.
I think he knows that this is inevitable in CA, and has to pick his battles wisely. He probably feels he has a mandate for fiscal change, not for social change. CA was already headed down this path, its just that MA beat them to it.
What surprises me is that it hasn't come up here in the People's Republic of Washington. Right now, they're on the verge of passing a bill to add gays to the list of protected classes when it comes to discrimination. I suppose that looks pretty mild in comparison to what's going on in CA and MA.
