State Attorney General Bill Lockyer on Saturday rebuffed Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's demand that he force an end to San Francisco's same-sex marriages, calling the directive political rhetoric.

"The governor can direct the Highway Patrol. He can direct the next 'Terminator 4' movie if he chooses. But he can't direct the attorney general in the way he's attempted to do," Lockyer said, adding that Schwarzenegger's written directive "was a statement designed for consumption at the Republican convention."

Look at it in this way. Feinstein and Boxer (and are those two ever tight) both think Newsom kicking up his heels is really bad politics. Those two are shrewd operators. Therefore they must see this could lead to Boxer losing, and Schwarzenegger doing the Democrat Party some real damage.

Schwarzenegger is a very sharp cookie, and will likely play it right. I suggest that a recall is in order for Lockyer. There are real, real, opportunities here to give the Dems a drubbing they will never forget.

You bet we'll keep this article to smash Lockyer with his outrageous defiance of the law he is sworn to uphold.

Damn democrats. I've had enough of them, and enough of CA.

I think we need to recall Bill Lockyer. I'm serious about this.

I'm with you. Count me in. This abomination has to stop.

So Lockyer thinks Arnold's call to enforce the laws of California is a "political ploy," and he doen't acknowledge that his refusal isn't???

Anarchy is right.

How long can it be before some Cali freak decides argues that murder is not wrong "to him", and that the rest of us have no business imposing our silly old-fashioned morals on him?

The knee-jerk response is that it is an issue of State interest, protecting the people and all of that, but even that argument is based on the assumption that we all favor protecting the innocent.

The idiotic "who's morality?" argument can justify ANYTHING.

I'm telling you, we're only a stone's throw away from absolute chaos and anarchy. Tolerance, they call it.

CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 5 EXECUTIVE

SECTION 1. The supreme executive power of this State is vested in the Governor. The Governor shall see that the law is faithfully executed.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Is there a law against that? lol

In any case, you can watch it from afar.
Any AG who doesn't stop willful lawbreaking
should be recalled.

Enjoy VB. Things aren't quite so volatile there. ;o)

The worm is turning. Stick it out.

My liberal sister-in-law in the Bay area says her Democrat boyfriend is seriously considering taking his cat with him to City Hall and insist on being married.

The Dems sure have their hair up. A bunch of debates, a bunch of Bush-bashing and suddenly, their side is winning (or so they think). As in any other contest, when your opponent is down, kick him, kick him real good.

First the Superbowl cultural meltdown extravaganza and now video of guys lip-locking in San Francisco in 'marital' bliss.

Excuse me while I puke. Could somebody please point the camera of national attention on to something else? Another war, a natural disaster, anything, please! I don't think I can stomach much more.
