To Mr. President and First Lady,
I know how sad you are -several months ago, my dog also passed. I have prayed for you. I will never forget Spotty. I hope you to find comfort in these words.
Best regards, Dubya's fan.

Excuse me, but does Dubya like the nickname Dubya?

She was a peach, friends. Look at that sweet muzzle. I have had to put some real faithful friends down to rest, so I know the pain, the heart ache.
The only cure for it, by the way, is puppy breath. Get one soon, in Spot's memory. The pup won't replace her in your heart, but will grow your heart a bunch.
This posted in memory of Chita, Prika, Lucky, Leo, and Hope. They wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge. My heart on this plane is now full, thanks to Hanna and Shadow.

I think President Bush likes the nickmane Dubya.
To: luvbach1
I think that is his nickname, even among his friends and family.
I can't remember the link. But, if you go to the www.whitehouse.gov and in there is a link to a kids web page all about Spot and in there the dog tells a story and in that he refers to his master as liking to be refered to as Dubya...

President's Dog Put To Death
It's all about the sensitivity, dontcha know. Jeezzz, I hate the disgusting liberal press.

Dear President and First Lady,
Sorry for the loss of your special pal. Losing a pet isn't easy, not too long ago my father had to put down his own dog, a fifteen year old Golden Retriever named Tycho, after his vet found him riddled with cancer. It was sudden and very disorienting--one day our golden one was sleeping in the living room, the next day he was gone-- but at least the old boy didn't linger in pain.
Now Tycho and Millie are romping around in a better place, and don't you know they're having fun.
Take care, and don't forget to give Barney extra hugs,
RepoGirl, Big Guy and Rusty 99, Baby Hoagy and Ursa Maxime (our Rottweiler extraordinare!)

A Dogs Plea
Treat me kindly my beloved friend, for no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for thought I might lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the worlds sweetest music, ans you must know by the wagging of my tail when the sound of your call falls upon my waiting ears.
Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to the bitter elements.
I ask for no greater pleasure than the privilage of sitting at your feet.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannt tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me wholesome food that I may stay well to romp and play and walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in any danger.
And my friend when I am old and no longer enjoy good health, hearing and eyesite, do not take any heroic efforts to keep my life going.
Please see to it that my life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth knowing with my last breath that my fate was always safest in your hands.
Thank you,
Your best Friend.

I found this when my dog died, memorized it, and repeated it to myself when I walked alone.
Close your eyes now
my faithful friend
and let this
time of suffering
come to a peaceful end.
We'll walk together
soon, I'm sure,
as winter turns to spring
when snow gives way
to budding leaves,
and birds beging to sing.
The gentle breeze
shall call your name
along the water's edge.
For what we shared
and what you meant
shall always be in mind.
Your friendship spans
the years behind
your memory ahead.
You'll always be
there next to me
companion and good friend.

I am so sad about the President's dog, Spot. I have a American Foxhound that I have had for 13 years and he is like one of the family. I can't bear the thought of what the First Family might be going through concerning their loss. God bless them and be with them.

I've noticed Spot wasn't cruelly left home alone for months on end only to get hit by a car like a dog we know, or given to a secretary after said usefullness was worn away like a poor cat we all know.

Dear President and Mrs. Bush,
Two weeks ago I had to have my beloved Cassie put to sleep due to lymphatic carcinoma. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, as she was, like Spot, a faithful friend who followed me everywhere.
My prayers are for you as you deal with this painful loss. Pets are part of our families, corny as that sounds. Jenna and Barbara have always had her around.
I know that Spot is with my Cassie, somewhere on the Rainbow Bridge. God bless her memory, and God bless all of you.
Sincerely,
Miss Marple
