Senate Bill S.659, Senator Mike DeWine

Posted on 03/01/2004 3:02:32 PM PST by psstoffpatriot

Attention to all Ohio voters. Mike DeWine is saying that he will not support Senate Bill S.659! This is the bill that is an attempt to prevent frivilous lawsuits against the gun industry. Don't let activist lawyers demonize and bankrupt the gun industry like they did with tobacco. Call DeWine and let him know how you feel. DC office 202-224-2315 DC fax 202-224-6519 Cincinnati 513-763-8260 Cleveland 216-522-7272 Columbus 614-469-6774 Marietta 740-373-2317 Toledo 419-259-7535 Xenia 937-376-3080 http://dewine.senate.gov/request_form.htm We must protect our rights from activist judiciary system. They've already destroyed the Constitution enough. Let's do at least something to keep the judiciary from extending further beyond it's original boundaries than it already has! If you are from a state other than Ohio, please contact your state senators. We really need to win this one.

Does he work? I called about 2 weeks ago to ask his position on the judicary committee memos, he didn't have a position. He sits on that committee and still hadn't decided what he wanted to do. He is a lamebrain. Did you ever watch him when hearings are televised? What an embaressment! Ohio does so well, DeWine, Kuchinich, Brown, Tubbs-Jones, Kaptur, Voinovich, what the sam hill is in the water here?

Many Republicans have lined up against the assault weapons ban extension.

But a number of high-profile Republicans are lined up with Democrats on this one. They include Senate Armed Services Chairman John Warner of Virginia and Senator Mike DeWine of Ohio.

The first time that I called DeWine's office about this was a few month's ago when the NRA sent out the first flyer about this bill. At the time the office said that he doesn't like to state his position on bills untill they are actually up for a vote. At the time the bill was still in committee. That's a nice way of saying that DeWine likes to hide his stance on issues unless he's forced to vote on them. Why can't we just have politicians who tell us their views to begin with and we vote for against them based on their actual beliefs or ideology. I guess then they wouldn't be politicians. I just feel betrayed by this.
