Can anyone elaborate on how popular Chris John is in his district? I live in CD1, and David Vitter is very, very well liked by almost everyone, including democrats. Why do you expect blacks to support John? They overwhelmingly supported both Fields and Jefferson in their gubernatorial runs.

I'd like to know as well. I'm also an LA-01 resident and I really don't know too much about LA-07, such as its political leanings, etc.

Blacks support white Democrats when they think there is a chance that a Republican could otherwise be elected. The black running for the Senate in LA this year is not that well known and is unlikely to consolidate support from his fellow black Democrats. Blacks also do whatever John Breaux tells them to do, and that is support Chris John.
