Three men are in custody this hour after allegedly photographing sites around the local refineries Wednesday in Delaware County. Police sources confirm that the three men are in custody and are being questioned about their activities.

The men were apprehended by Marcus Hook police.

The FBI will assist with the investigation.

Sources also tell Action News that the alleged suspects were videotaping the refineries and tanker ships.

Hey wjersey -- if you are a member starting tomorrow, how did you post this today? Inquiring minds wonder about these things. Quite a concept imagining Marcus Hook as the next battle in the war on terror.

Nothing to see here, move along.

John Kerry will ensure that nothing bad will happen to us ever again. Because he will talk with these people.

I'm certain that their intentions were peaceful, we just can't understand their advanced sense of curiosity.

Nothing ever seems to develop out of these stories. Maybe it's because taking photos isn't a crime, but I'd at least like to hear the excuse, plus the names involved.

Hmmm...

Taking pictures is now an arrestable offense?

Mind you, I agree that this is fishy, and these folks should be questioned, but with what part of the criminal justice code do they plan on charging these near-do-wells?

Interestingly, the S. Philly area is one of the few places in the US where tankers come in close to land to unload oil for refining. In most places, the tankers stand offshore and transfer their load through a long pipeline, and an explosion would be much less damaging to the shore. The Philly tankers have to come into and up the Delaware River.

they never tell us if they were MEs.

they could get warrants to search their homes, car, etc, and should do so.

Might have been arrested for trespassing, or who knows what. There's always a reason to arrest someone if you look hard enough.

After the Supreme Court ruled in a Lago Vista Texas case, cops have the right to arrest anyone for 24 hours on probable cause (suspicion), and they can "manufacture" the cause AFTER they arrest you.

They can also hold a person under arrest as a material witness to a possible felony. Conspiracy to commit a felony is also a felony.

warrants to search their homes?????

based on what? you need probable cause to get a search warrant. I hope we haven't reached the point where taking photographs constitutes probable cause.
