Gah. Terrible, terrible mistake. Even if she comes out on top in the show trial, which is doubtful given that the Dem attack dogs on the commission *live* for this kind of thing, it's a horrendous precedent to set.
I can't believe they gave into this pressure. I suspect they have an artificial sense of how much people actually cared about it.

This is classic Bush "rope-a-dope". First they take the beating, then they build the audience and then they give the Dems what the asked for and take a campaign issue away. And it DOES keep the focus on national defense which is a clear winner for Bush.
