KERRY 1970:
He described himself as "an internationalist" and said he wanted "to almost eliminate CIA activity."
"I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations," Kerry said.
KERRY 2003:
"I would go to the United Nations with a legitimate diplomatic effort, with humility, with a genuine effort to acknowledge some misjudgments, and to start -- to state clearly to the world, the way in which the world has a stake in what is happening, notwithstanding the errors of judgment that this administration has made. I would turn over to the U.N. legitimate authority for the civil reconstruction, for the humanitarian mission, and for the governance. And I would use the U.N.'s good services to help to internationalize this effort so that we reduce the sense of American occupation and the targeting of American troops."
And you would do that immediately, Senator?
KERRY:"Yes, I'd do that immediately. I'd do it tomorrow morning, today. I think it's long overdue."
TOPICS: Foreign Affairs; Government; News/Current Events; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: globalism; internationalist; kerry; kerryrecord; un; waffle
Guess he thinks it's 30 years overdue.
Maybe he wants Kofi as V.P.

"Kerry doesn't waffle on UN control" is the most accurate statement I've ever seen on Ketchupman.

I wonder if Kerry feels the same way about the UN after the latest revelations over the Oil for Food scandal? He wants to apologize to the UN for our belligerence, when it is the UN who should be apologizing to us...and to the people of Iraq. This is an organization that, using its own Numbers, claims that 5,000 Iraqi children died per month. Yeah....I guess those Mercedes Benz' and sport stadiums didn't exactly help feed the poor. And Kerry wants to give them power over our policy?

These comments are totally irresponsible and wrong. Americans understand the weakness of the United Nations. President Bush will not permit the security interests of the United States to be controlled by the United Nations. IMHO, President Bush will kill Kerry on this issue.

Kerry is so blatant about his globalism, I'm almost of two minds on his election. Since as a Christian I've vowed to oppose evil wherever I find it, I must at least vote against him. Unless Bush demonstrates he is more evil by say, signing a new AWB. But if Kerry becomes President, I'd say we are dramatically closer to the Kingdom of Heaven.

"with humility"And that is where you really SUCK Mr. Kerry. Humility does not win wars nor does it make respectful friends among the nations of this world.

"With humility."
That right there says all anyone needs to know about John Kerry.
He wants us humbled before the world. And the UN exalted. Give them the internet, the seas---how about throwing in the Suez and Panama Canals? Oh yeah the West already surrendered those...Maybe the Moon and Mars?

Great post!!
Any chance you know where to find the very-Kerry response to a question regarding foreign policy in one of the pre-Iowa debates - Kerry said the first thing he would do as president would be to go to the UN to apologize so that the US could rejoin the community of nations - and then Kerry said something about going to France and Germany to get on his knees?
