U.S. military commanders in the Pacific warned Congress yesterday that North Korea could provide nuclear arms to terrorist groups such as al Qaeda.

Adm. Thomas B. Fargo, leader of the U.S. Pacific Command, and Army Gen. Leon J. LaPorte, commander of U.S. forces in Korea, testified about the danger of nuclear terrorism at a budget hearing for the House Armed Services Committee.

It makes sense, AQ has money, N. Korea has nukes and they both hate the US.

In the meantime, the Dems want to drive the country, while looking in the rear view mirror, to find a speck of dust they can turn into a mountain against Bush.

We have a choice: Bush is working to protect us, the American people, while all the Dems and Kerry cares about is to OBSTRUCT Bush's efforts to defend us, for their own political power grab purposes.

North Korea warms to Kerry presidency bid
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1090897/posts

The apparent enthusiasm for Mr Kerry may reflect little more than a "better the devil you don't know" mentality among the North Korean apparatchiks. Rather than dealing with President George W. Bush and hawkish officials in his administration, Pyongyang seems to hope victory for the Democratic candidate on November 2 would lead to a softening in US policy towards the country's nuclear weapons programme.

Adm. Fargo said the potential for al Qaeda-North Korea nuclear cooperation is one of several threats in the region. Others include North Korea's conventional forces, the potential of a conflict between China and Taiwan that could involve the United States, and terrorists operating in Southeast Asia.

Hmmm--putting this together with a couple other items from today's FR headlines:

DPRK to Take Decisive Countermeasure for Self-Defence ["will increase nuclear deterrent force"]

Terrorists could target SE Asia shipping lanes with 'crude nuclear device'

And then there was the attempted terrorist attack in the Philippines the other day--coming not long after the assassination attempt on the President of Taiwan--are Al Qaeda and its allies making a move in Asia right now, or setting the stage for it?

And there is an article at Debka about AQ plans to keep attacking countries allied with us.

In Fallujah Al Qaeda Reminds Americans of Mogadishu
http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=818

On March 19, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 150 reported from its exclusive counter-terror sources that the Moroccan psychiatrist Dr. Abu Hafiza, member of the tight Osama bin Laden-Ayman Zuwahiri elite that rules al Qaeda and tactical mastermind of the Madrid rail bombings, compiled a strategic blueprint to govern the network’s steps in 2004. He predicted that the Madrid rail attacks would scar the Spanish psyche sufficiently to turn the electorate away from the government and set off a domino effect that would rebound on Britain’s Tony Blair, Italy’s Silvio Berlusconi and eventually US President George W. Bush.

”After knocking over one domino after another,” Hafiza wrote, “We will stand face to face with the key domino, the United States.”

Thanks, didn't see that one. I can only guess what's up, but it sure seems like that Madrid attack triggered something. No doubt they have plans to disrupt our November elections (as was reported the other day) and it's not a big leap to infer that what they're doing now must fit into that. I wonder what their game plan is?

It makes sense, AQ has money, N. Korea has nukes and they both hate the US.

Remember too that China is pretty cozy with North Korea (and China has most if not all of our secrets).

Then too, if you read the Korean News on line, they are very cozy with Mexico!! This scares me. Incidentally, I used to read China Daily every day but, for the last few days I can't get through. Just get the page that says Page not available.

Thoughts?

Unfortunately, we are the only country on Earth that has realized this threat, and we are divided as a country on that. I fear that it is only a matter of time before we are attacked by nuclear weapons. We do not have the number of soldiers necessary to attack North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Afganistan... Only something horrific will pull the West togther to address this problem. It will happen. If it happens in the U.S., expect the Euroweenies to not return our calls.
