I think you have him confused with former Gov. Mike Foster. Roemer was a one-termer whose ineptness led to the "Runoff from Hell".

You're right. I do remember some weirdness during Romer's tenure, though. He wore a rubber band on his wrist that he'd snap to remind himself of--well, whatever it was he was trying to remind himself of. And he was fond of making speeches filled with inconprehensible New Age type language.
