The Palestine Liberation Organization United Nations observer mission is sponsoring a Security Council discussion about the separation plan, and agreements exchanged by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and U.S. President George W. Bush.

Informed sources in New York told Haaretz that the PLO observer intends to initiate a Security Council meeting on April 23. On that day, the UN secretary-general's Middle East envoy, Terje Larsen will present Security Council members his monthly briefing on circumstances in the territories.

The PLO mission intends to convert Larsen's briefing into an open discussion about Sharon's unilateral disengagement plan, and the issue of the right of return.

What's the UN going to do? Modify its own resolution that was passed in 1967 saying that Israel did not have to leave all territories liberated in the war?
