THE European Union on Sunday condemned the assassination by Israel of Hamas chief Abdelaziz Rantissi, as well as the earlier Palestinian suicide bombing on the Erez crossing between the Gaza Strip and the Jewish state.
In a statement on behalf of the EU presidency, Ireland's Foreign Minister Brian Cowen "expressed deep concern at the ongoing and seemingly endless cycle of retaliatory violence involving Palestinian groups and the Israeli Defence Forces".
Cowen "condemned yesterday's assassination Hamas leader Abdelaziz Rantissi by Israeli forces and the suicide bombing at the Erez crossing earlier in the day" and "called for an immediate end to such violence".
"He once again reminded the Israeli government that extra judicial killings are contrary to international law and pointed out that respect for international law should mark an important distinction between democratically elected governments and terrorist groups," the statement released on the sidelines of an EU-Asia ministerial meeting added.

Europe, which shed rivers of Jewish blood down the ages, doesn't have right to give lectures on moral behavior to Israel.

I'm not familiar with this politician. Does he make a similar statement every thme a suicide bomber blows up a school bus or a mall full of teenagers?

Yes, the esteemed Irish Foreign Minister's statement doesn't smack of hypocrisy in any way, shape, or form. He is fully qualified to lecture and condemn.

And this well represents the sickness of the EU.
A terrorist organization says it's going kill Israelis. It then straps bombs on its followers and blows up innocent women and children going to school among others.
The Israelis target the leader of the organization and take him out with little or no collateral damage.
The EU condemns it equating it to the terrorists killing of innocence.
The EU is and has been morally bankrupt for some time now. There is great pain coming to the world.

Can't the EU see that using defensive tactics against terrorists is feudal. When you go after a snake you cut off it's head, you don't negotiate with it.

Was he ever a member or associate of the IRA??
It is time for America to really ask:
"Who are our friends, Who act like our enemies?"
"If they act like our enemies, then we shall consider them as such."
It is time to call their hands, let us see their cards.

Funny how they never condem Hamas for their suicide bombings...

It must be getting late. I thought the headline was "EU condoms Rantissi".

An endless cycle of retaliation??? One side endlessly attacks. The other side retaliates. More endless inability to rationally think from the left. And they claim they are more educated?

Me: It's late. I'm probably not thinking clearly. Just wanted to know what your talking about, who you are referring to as "enemy" and as "friend" and I'm not quite sure how we started playing cards after all the questions were asked. Good night. Or maybe I should say, good morning.

The EU doesn't seem to understand that killing terrorists is a good thing.
To: yonif
Maybe the EU should express "deep concern" at the Palestinean culture of death, which teaches children to strap bombs on their bellies, to hate "the offspring of monkeys and pigs," and to view suicide and murder as the apex of cultural and moral achievement.
Since we know that the EU doesn't condemn the weekly killings of Israeli innocents, this "deep concern" can only be viewed as pathetic hypocrisy.

The EU condemning Israel? Oh, now there is a big surprise(not). Myself,(for what it's worth) I am glad Israel is implementing a policy I wish they had begun years ago. I think a lot of grief could have been averted.

Brian Cowen is one of the most courageous pliticians in Europe. He faced down the Provisional IRA and was a key player in the peace process in Ulster. So maybe he knows what he is talking about?
To: Michael121
If you used google, you would find out that Brian Cowen has always been a staunch opponent of terrorism in all its forms.
Not all Irish people are IRA members or sympathisers you know. In fact, in the Republic, the IRA has never commanded much support at all.
To: yonif
I guess they'll condemn the US if we kill Bin Laden too. These people are twisted.

You don´t seem to understand that killing without a sentence is a bad thing. Catch the bad guys and trial them, that´s what every murder deserves, according to our laws.
